It seems that this place truly has changed from what I remember, even the Mannequins and the locations. It is strange, to think that the world itself could change so much... Yet the true reasons for this battle have not changed, nor has my purpose in it.

Can I help you?

You are the one planning the stalemate, correct?

I am.

I figured if we can keep both crystals out of the hands of the opposing sides, force a stalemate, someone will have to answer our questions.

I understand that perhaps those who have light in their hearts might have been called to fight for Chaos. That is the nature of discord. But are you sure you are going about helping them in the right way?

Whether or not this is the 'right' way isn't important unfortunately. It's the only way. There are too many lives at stake to simply sit back and wait for some 'deity' that has yet to show her face to answer our questions. Once we have our answers, we'll let the war go on as it was.
If you want to help, we'd be happy to have you. But we're not going to back down. We'll hold off both sides if need be. It's not a decision made lightly, but our resolve is solid.

By dividing Cosmos's forces in this way, you weaken us, and allow Chaos's forces to grow stronger in taking advantage of that. I have been told that if we are able to win this next battle, Cosmos will be able to manifest herself. Would it not be better to put your effort into winning the battle, so that you may speak to her once the battle is finished?
If Chaos wins this war, our worlds will fall to discord, and this cycle of battle will be continued endlessly. Do you not wish to prevent that?

Where I'm from, there's always going to be discord. Everyone seems to be in it for themselves. I've seen people turned into mindless zombies just so a company could turn a buck. I've seen thousands of innocent people turned into hosts to an army of parasites so a madman could fund research into a global genocide plan.
I've learned not to trust too easily, and quite frankly, I've seen nothing to give me reason to trust either of these so-called gods. No offense, but this is something that needs to be done. Quite a few people - including several veterans of these wars - feel the same way ( ... )

[Hearing that part about veterans makes the warrior frown, but he doesn't ask who. He can guess- and in a way, he can understand it, even if he doesn't agree with it. The 'fighting for our loved ones' line also does, though for a different reason. It's a reminder of his complete lack of memory.]
I cannot agree to join you. I swore to fight for Cosmos, and that is what I intend to do- it is what you should do, as one she called. You were summoned to this battle for a reason.

I have no personal vendetta against her, and I don't think she's a bad person per say. However, you have had a luxury that most of us haven't. Sounds like you fight of your own will. That's all fine and dandy for you... but us? We were kidnapped. Held against our will. Separated from all we knew and loved. And then we find out that our loved ones are being held hostage and forced to fight against us.
Sorry, but that doesn't sound like any benevolent deity to me. Yeah, Chaos is evil, I just don't know what kind of 'deity' this Cosmos person is. Until I can get some answers, I'm reserving judgment. And if nothing else, we want to send a message - to both sides.
Nobody gets between us and our loved ones without consequences.
[He crosses his arms, showing a resolve to match Warrior's. Right ( ... )

So, you are choosing this stalemate because you wish to prove that your will is still your own.
Even in the first war, it was true that those who fought for Cosmos were forced to fight against those they cared for. They still found the strength to face them and gain their crystals.
[In some ways, that may be what the Warrior is. Cosmos, this world, and the comrades he's made here are all he has. He believes in Cosmos enough to die for her- and that's what a religious zealot is, after all.]

And there's nothing about that that seems, oh I don't know, wrong? The God I know would never force people to fight against their friends and family.
[And if Chris knew his reasoning, he'd be a lot more sympathetic. As it is, he has very little respect for Warrior.]
[OOC: It's really hard to keep this from turning into a sermon. >.>]

[OOC: I don't mind if it does.]

Sorry, but I can't take your word for it. If she's everything you say she is, fine. We'll do everything we can to fight for her. However, until I can gauge it for myself, I'm not holding my breath.
[OOC: Heh, it's just that I don't really see Chris as the preachy type. :P]

I have seen this world fall to darkness, and hope nearly extinguished because Chaos gained victory. If it were not for the power of the crystals, all would have been lost. I will not allow there to be even a chance of that happening again.
