It seems that this place truly has changed from what I remember, even the Mannequins and the locations. It is strange, to think that the world itself could change so much... Yet the true reasons for this battle have not changed, nor has my purpose in it.

Yeah, that's another thing. First off, I only believe in one God. It's been my faith that has kept me sane through everything I've seen. Secondly, if she - or anyone for that matter - wants my trust and respect, they have to earn it.

I have no personal vendetta against her, and I don't think she's a bad person per say. However, you have had a luxury that most of us haven't. Sounds like you fight of your own will. That's all fine and dandy for you... but us? We were kidnapped. Held against our will. Separated from all we knew and loved. And then we find out that our loved ones are being held hostage and forced to fight against us.

Sorry, but that doesn't sound like any benevolent deity to me. Yeah, Chaos is evil, I just don't know what kind of 'deity' this Cosmos person is. Until I can get some answers, I'm reserving judgment. And if nothing else, we want to send a message - to both sides.

Nobody gets between us and our loved ones without consequences.

[He crosses his arms, showing a resolve to match Warrior's. Right now, Chris only sees a religious zealot. The same kind of zealots who started the Crusades. Chris wants no part of a holy war. He's seen too much damage done by those anyway.]

... one god?

So, you are choosing this stalemate because you wish to prove that your will is still your own.

Even in the first war, it was true that those who fought for Cosmos were forced to fight against those they cared for. They still found the strength to face them and gain their crystals.

[In some ways, that may be what the Warrior is. Cosmos, this world, and the comrades he's made here are all he has. He believes in Cosmos enough to die for her- and that's what a religious zealot is, after all.]

Yeah. It's got a lot of history I'm not going to get into right now.

And there's nothing about that that seems, oh I don't know, wrong? The God I know would never force people to fight against their friends and family.

[And if Chris knew his reasoning, he'd be a lot more sympathetic. As it is, he has very little respect for Warrior.]

[OOC: It's really hard to keep this from turning into a sermon. >.>]

Cosmos does not do such a thing willingly. You have already said that you know Chaos is to blame in this. Do you believe that she is glad that these battles continue? She was willing to give up her life in order to see this conflict brought to a close.

[OOC: I don't mind if it does.]

That's not something I can say. I've assumed that people would honor their words at face value before. That only put me in a situation where I had to watch friends and co-workers die a very painful death, only to have their bodies rise from the dead and attack their loved ones in a perverted experiment.

Sorry, but I can't take your word for it. If she's everything you say she is, fine. We'll do everything we can to fight for her. However, until I can gauge it for myself, I'm not holding my breath.

[OOC: Heh, it's just that I don't really see Chris as the preachy type. :P]

Then until you realize it, we cannot work together. If you do carry out this plan, then I will have little choice but to fight you. I apologize, but I cannot allow Chaos to gain any advantage in this conflict.

I have seen this world fall to darkness, and hope nearly extinguished because Chaos gained victory. If it were not for the power of the crystals, all would have been lost. I will not allow there to be even a chance of that happening again.

We have no intentions of letting Chaos get any advantage either. We agree on one thing at least. Chaos cannot be allowed to win. However, we don't exactly trust Cosmos either. We just want guarantees that our loved ones won't be left behind. Once we have that, I will gladly fight for Cosmos. However, if we don't have those affirmations... well, we'll have to start taking the crystals and find a way to return home by ourselves.

This war is pointless. Too many people are hurting, not enough are understanding each other.
