[Cecil sounds alarmed, but there's no trace of recognition at his friend in his voice.]

<3! At last he does!~ And yes, it is!

[Eek! Who said that? Was that...a voice?]

[Edward falls quiet as he looks around for the speaker, only to find no one there.]

Where are you? Or rather...who are you?

[That voice, it does sound a tad familiar.]

My name is Cecil. We're speaking through crystals that serve as communication devices, but if you need help, I can come find you.

Cecil!?

[How did he get here? No wait, how did they get here? Just a moment ago, Cecil was at the wedding...]

It is I, Edward! Don't you remember me? Cecil, where are you? Why are you here? Where are the others!?

[Great, now he's panicking.]

H-How did we get here?

...You know me?! Then you know Rosa and Kain as well? Or perhaps my brother?

[Here we go again... Even if Edward can't see it, Cecil's staring at his crystal in shock and anticipation. Still, if this stranger has just arrived, he'll be confused and in need of information, first of all.]

We've been summoned here by the gods to do battle. Forgive me, but I've been here a long time, and I have no recollection of who you are.

Do I know you? Cecil, I have battled by your side countless of times...

[By 'battled', he means hidden. The bard really isn't much of a fighter, hence the reason why no one will understand why Cosmos summoned him.]

I know of Rosa and Kain both. Are they not your childhood friends from Baron? Baron, it is your homeland, Cecil. Don't you remember? And Rosa, she's...she's your beloved.

[He sighs a little since nothing is making sense right now.]

Rosa has told me the same, but... all my memories of home are gone. Even memories of her. [And not a day goes by that he doesn't feel more and more terrible about it.]

I'm truly sorry.

[What have these gods done to Cecil?! Edward was infuriated. Did they steal his memories so they can use him in a pawn for their war? If so, why hadn't they did the same to him?

Edward was so confused, but his confusion was second to his worry for Cecil.]

Thank you. [Gods, everyone from home has been so kind to him, he feels all the worse for forgetting such good friends.] I won't let your efforts go to waste -- I'll try as much as I can to remember.

You must have questions of your own, but if I may, how is it we know one another?

Well, now that you've asked...why are we here again? To fight a war!?

[He's given it time already, but it isn't helping that Rosa and Kain are all too reluctant to talk about his past.]

Yes, we're here to fight in the latest war between Chaos and Cosmos, the god of discord and goddess of harmony, respectively. I was here in the last war, along with my brother, Golbez. Last time, Cosmos was victorious, but for some reason, the fighting has begun anew.

A new war between the gods? If the Goddess of Harmony won the last time, then why does Chaos live yet still? He must have escaped---

[Edward paused once he heard the name 'Golbez', and a sudden dread washed over him. Golbez is Cecil's brother, this much is true, but...is that villain still here?]

Golbez...

[hallowedlight]

I don't know. It was Cosmos who was first defeated in the last war, but she gave the last of her strength so we would not fade away with her, and together my friends and I were able to defeat Chaos and return home. Yet still both gods live, and I remain here. None of us who were here last time know how, or why.

[Edward's reaction at his brother's name confuses him; Golbez's past actions are another thing he has yet to learn about.]

Yes? Is something the matter?

[Less interested about Cosmos or Chaos, and more interested in just how Golbez is involved in this; Edward chooses his next words very carefully. If Rosa and Kain are present here, then why haven't neither of them told Cecil about Golbez? Maybe the time hadn't present itself yet, or maybe there's another reason for this. Whatever the case, Edward had to approach this with caution.]

N-Nothing is a matter! I just hadn't expected to hear his name in all this. Is Golbez here, Cecil?

I can't say for certain, but I believe he returned home after our last battle, just before Chaos was defeated.

[Is that disappointment? Maybe a little. Still, it's better he doesn't have to fight against him, that he isn't dragged into yet another war. Hopefully he'll be happier in their home world, whatever awaits them there.]

[Poor Cecil. He has no idea what sort of horrors Golbez once caused in their realm, and it would break Cecil's heart to speak of them now. It wasn't common knowledge that Zemus was the one behind those vile deeds, so most people still carry dislike for Golbez on their world.

However, if Golbez was returned to the Moon...then maybe all is well.]

Let us hope he is at peace, Cecil. I wish for nothing else but that for him and others caught in the woes that once plagued our realm.
