Kefka twisted in the air to avoid the firsts blast of water, but the second one erupted before he could move away again. However, the spell served more to annoy the mad mage than anything at the moment. He was drenched head-to-toe and he was none too pleased about it.

Thankfully, he was able to recover his composure even as he pulled himself from a girder he was thrown up against, in time to see Shadow's impending attack. The energies the hedgehog manipulated with such ease was intriguing to say the least, not to mention the piece of what Kefka thought was magicite would mark him as a target for the future. After sending another Forsaken spell to meet the quickly moving bolts and nullifying the attack in a rather violent explosion, Kefka spared a glance at Kuja and Kain.

"Kuja, deal with the rodent. I have more pressing matters to attend to. We'll deal with the traitor later."

He didn't trust Kuja to blindly follow orders, but he hoped that Kuja knew enough about magic to know that a clash between Kuja and Shadow would only result in collateral damage that would only weaken their overall defenses. For now, he turned his sights to Terra, readying a Trine spell.

Terra leaped high, trying to avoid the spell. She was somewhat successful. Timing and reflexes saved her from what could have been a mortal blast, but she was still affected by the magic, crying out as she was thrown back.

And then she Tranced. Terra's Esper side came forth, and power crackled all around her. She conjured up her tornadoes and charged Kefka, intent on deflecting his next attack while hopefully slamming him into the nearest surface.

Now things were getting exciting. There was a smile in his eye as he watched him fall, a sudden rush that had begun from the moment he was so bold to make a mark on him. It was reminiscent of the unnatural thrill he'd found in what seemed like another lifetime when a certain Eidolon had done the same. Kuja had been fascinated by it, besotted by blood and wonder. After that, he'd wasted no time in making Bahamut his.

"Stay down."

He teased, ready to rain new pain upon him. Kuja froze when he heard Kefka's instruction, arm drawn and poised mid-cast as he shot a sidelong glare in his direction. That's right. He certainly had shown up, hadn't he? Oh, but he liked this one ...

Far be it from Kuja to let Kefka rain on his parade, but he did have a point, and the speedy little beast in question could become the determining factor of their winning or losing if he were left unchecked. He also knew that Kefka was eager to take a shot at his plaything and Kuja wasn't above being cooperative if not accommodating, though quite frankly, it almost made him miss his own plaything, the one that miraculously slipped beneath his radar. For now, substitutes would have to do and Kain, he'd just have to deal with you later.

With a tragic eye roll, Kuja promptly shifted targets on a sharp, aerial 180. A mystic glow at his fingertips and a sweep of his arm sent a volley of Holy rings toward the newest arrival with thorough intent to stop him in his tracks as he dove through the air towards him.
