[ She could hear a distressed voice from the dance room, only because he was fortuitous enough that her music wasn't playing. Esme peeked out from the window, and saw the dimming light.

What was going on?

Was he being attacked?

Was it an illusion?

Esmeralda didn't care to know. Djali looked up in alarm at her friend's sudden look of concern, as the gypsy flew to catch her shawl, and rush out into the evening air to see what was going on. He certainly wasn't under attack. But still, he was distressed. ]

[Ray hears her voice in the distance, relieved that someone's found him, and calls back to her immediately and hopefully]

C-CAN YA 'EAR ME? CAN YA SEE THA LIGHT?!

[ She might seem a little farther away than she actually is. Esme wishes she brought something with her to fight through the fog. But, nonetheless, she can see that light. ]

Hang on!

[ A few more cautious steps and she's behind him, easing closer so as not to startle him. ]

You alright?

... Chere?

[Ray turns around to see her, still shivering from the intense cold... that he's feeling, anyway. He looks so weak and dazed... yet relieved]

Ah, Chere... t'ank ya... 'ow ya ou' 'ere in dis cold...?

[Suddenly, he starts to lose his balance, like he could faint at any second]

[ His spacey look and shivering skin doesn't put her at ease. how long had he been out here? After all, at this time of evening, it was breezy...at best. Esme pulls her shawl and lofts it onto his shoulders, a makeshift support into keeping him standing, as well as keeping him warm. ]

Stay with me, alright? Let's get you inside.

[ An arm goes around his shoulder, and Esme helps him along. Back to the dance room? ]

[Ray accepts and immediately starts to feel a bit warmer. He looks up at her, sympathetically smiling, grateful she came to help. He goes with her, but weakly stumbling a bit as he walks]

Chere... ya might'a gun'an' saved mah life jus' now...

[Still, he keeps a tight grip on his lantern, with it's healthy glow slowly coming back]

[ Where he was? Wasn't too far from the New Arts Building. She goes ahead and pulls him inside. ]

[ Because she wasn't all that sure about the Mist herself. ]

[His stumble seems to get better once he's inside, but he's still shivering a bit]

Ah'm... ah'm fine, ah t'ink, jus' kin'a cold. Freezin' ou' dere, ol' Ray t'ought he was gonna be a pop-sicle!

[He keeps on smiling optimistically, really just incredibly glad to be out of the Mist]

[He suddenly looks a bit concerned]
