[First reaction: It's a talking stuffed bear. WHAT?! Second reaction: Aw, poor bear! Third reaction: Talking. Stuffed. Bear. Fourth reaction: But the poor thing is so beaten up!
All of this? Takes about four seconds.
Then Jane, very, very nervously, manages to speak.]
I... I might have some shampoo. And I've got a needle and some thread... if you need patched up at all.
I mean... if that won't hurt? Will it hurt? Should you go to the nurse?
[The questions are very genuine. She's not sure how to handle a talking stuffed animal, but concern overrides her usual freaking out.]
[Lotso is a little nervous to respond back, as well. After all, this is his first time speaking to a human. But he chuckles and smiles warmly, setting the uneasiness aside.] No, no, it won't hurt too bad. I actually think I got a popped seam somewhere or another.. Thank you for worryin', though, that's real sweet of ya. What's your name, little missy?
Or [She knows walking sticks are sometimes for fashion, not function, but she's seen the little mallet.] I could come and get you, if it's a bit too far for you!
Can I help you to Joe West? I've got my sewing kit in my dorm, and then I can get a nice warm bath. [Because it'll be fine to bathe a stuffed bear in the girl's bathroom, won't it?]
[But he's an adorable bear! ...Besides, otherwise she'd have to go into the boy's bathroom, and that would be even MORE awkward.]
I'm happy to help. Mother says you should always try and help other people. That's what responsible adults do.
[And she will pick him up, very carefully. It's still... strange... that he's a talking bear, but he is pretty cuddly. Or will be once he's cleaned up.]
[Lotso cuddles back lightly, he doesn't have Lotso-Huggin' in his name for nothing! But he lets go when he realizes how messy he still is.] Well it's good that you're actin' so responsible at such a young age, I think.

I'm sure a little sewing would be better than nothin'.. If it's not too much trouble for you, that is.

And a nice bath with some good shampooing!
The water should be warm but not too hot, right?
