[First reaction: It's a talking stuffed bear. WHAT?!
Second reaction: Aw, poor bear!
Third reaction: Talking. Stuffed. Bear.
Fourth reaction: But the poor thing is so beaten up!

All of this? Takes about four seconds.

Then Jane, very, very nervously, manages to speak.]

I... I might have some shampoo. And I've got a needle and some thread... if you need patched up at all.

I mean... if that won't hurt? Will it hurt? Should you go to the nurse?

[The questions are very genuine. She's not sure how to handle a talking stuffed animal, but concern overrides her usual freaking out.]

[Lotso is a little nervous to respond back, as well. After all, this is his first time speaking to a human. But he chuckles and smiles warmly, setting the uneasiness aside.]
No, no, it won't hurt too bad. I actually think I got a popped seam somewhere or another.. Thank you for worryin', though, that's real sweet of ya.
What's your name, little missy?

I'm... not as good at sewing as Mother is, but I can do a bit.

My name's Jane.

It's a real pleasure to meet you, Jane.

I'm sure a little sewing would be better than nothin'.. If it's not too much trouble for you, that is.

Oh, no! I'd be happy to do it!

And a nice bath with some good shampooing!

The water should be warm but not too hot, right?

Yeah, warm's just what I need. I really appreciate all of this, Jane.
Would you mind if I come over there now?

Oh, no, that's fine!

Or [She knows walking sticks are sometimes for fashion, not function, but she's seen the little mallet.] I could come and get you, if it's a bit too far for you!

It might be better for you to find me, since I don't know my way 'round this school, just yet.

Okay!

Are you outside on the quad? Or in one of the buildings?

I'm out in the quad. [He sits down and sets his mallet to the side] I'll just wait right here for you, Jane.

[ooc: switch to action~?]

[Not very long after that, having had to wander the quad a bit to find the large pink bear, the young girl comes in to sight.

She hurries over and smiles, kneeling down.]

Mr. Lotso?

[Lotso smiles and shakily stands up with the aid of his mallet] That'd be me!

It's nice to meet you in person, Jane.

It's very nice to meet you too.

Can I help you to Joe West? I've got my sewing kit in my dorm, and then I can get a nice warm bath. [Because it'll be fine to bathe a stuffed bear in the girl's bathroom, won't it?]

[CREEPY OLD MAN IN THE GIRL'S BATHROOM! It'll be fine.]

That sounds wonderful, thank you. My, you're an awful sweet little girl to be doin' something like this for someone you just met!

[Go ahead and pick him up, Jane, he won't mind being carried! O:]

[But he's an adorable bear! ...Besides, otherwise she'd have to go into the boy's bathroom, and that would be even MORE awkward.]

I'm happy to help. Mother says you should always try and help other people. That's what responsible adults do.

[And she will pick him up, very carefully. It's still... strange... that he's a talking bear, but he is pretty cuddly. Or will be once he's cleaned up.]

[Girls bathroom it is, then!]

[Lotso cuddles back lightly, he doesn't have Lotso-Huggin' in his name for nothing! But he lets go when he realizes how messy he still is.]
Well it's good that you're actin' so responsible at such a young age, I think.
