Today's plans for the day was to adventure Santa Monica!
The main reason I went was to see the Pee-Wee Herman Art Show: "I Know You Art But What Am I?" at Gallery 1988. I loved seeing the variety of artwork. Even bought a print of one of them! It was super small, though, so I wasn't there for long. I made my way over to the beach and ate at a cafe there. The food wasn't all that good, though. Had to move the car somewhere else before I could resume my adventure. About 30 min. later, I continued my beach journey. I spotted the pier off in the far distance, so I began walking to it. Took another 30 min. just to walk there, but I felt it was worth it. Got to admire the ocean on the way, got lots of nice photos, rode the Ferris Wheel and played in the arcade. I got a few nice sunset photos while I was there. A little after 7 PM, I started making my way back. Had to be at the car by 8. I was wiped out by the time I got back in the car. Went to Denny's once I was close to home and had a smoothie. Tuned into The 90s Are All That once I was home and then discovered some exciting news! The Tim Burton exhibit in LA that i've been planning on going to was having a free screening of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure! But uh...it was tomorrow. I might not be able to make it, especially since I have an appointment at 2:30. I probably wouldn't have much time to see the exhibit either. But hopefully my appointment lasts less than 2 hours. Eh, we'll see.
I also just realized, I never mentioned what Disneyland announced! Back on Tuesday, they announced a bunch of changes happening on Main Street. The Blue Ribbon Bakery will be closing, Carnation Cafe will have indoor seating, Gibson Girl and Candy Palace are being expanded and Plaza Pavilion is turning into a Mary Poppins themed bakery (Jolly Holiday Bakery). I'm pretty excited for these changes, though it's weird to think Blue Ribbon Bakery will be gone. I'm used to always seeing it. The Gibson Girl and Candy Palace expansions kinda worry me since Penny Arcade is in between them, i'm hoping they don't take out the little games and that organ. I'm not sure what they have in mind...
In other news, Boba Fett and Captain Rex (Clone Wars, not the adorable pilot) have been doing meet n greets in Tomorrowland, so that's exciting! Maybe we're one step closer to getting Star Wars Weekend over here. I'd love it if we got ahold of C-3PO or some Ewoks. *crosses fingers* So anyways, I should get some sleep. Hopefully my plans for tomorrow all work out. I feel bad about driving all that way again, but...it'll be an adventure! Life's too short to care about money...right? Ha....ha.
