A pile of stuff

We have been surprised by an old friend who is in town for nearly a week. This has played havoc with our intended schedule. We now feel compelled to fill his week with useful evening activities. My friend Mark and his wife often feel similarly compelled when I am dispatched to San Diego, where they have lived now for 6 years?! Has it really been that long?

Last night we went to the Museum of Glass down on the waterway.

We encountered a piece by David Gilhooly that my_dog_fluffer very much liked. I guess it is a fine summation of her spiritual outlook.

I have yet to settle on an opinion regarding John Roberts (like it really matters). I did have an interesting discussion with a coworker about this on Wednesday afternoon. He is a "pro-choice" Republican and I am a "pro-life" Democrat. We found ourselves in an oddly interesting point/counterpoint in which it seemed at times our normal perspectives had reversed. I think that at the end of the day I got the better of the discussion. At least he verbally conceded more frequently than I did.

family, outlook
