After reading (or rather, re-reading) a few articles on the netiquette of wishlists and the like, it got the grey stuff that sits in my skull thinking. Not just about what is right and wrong with it comes to online wishlists, but about what a wishlist to me is.
Now, to me it is okay to link to your Amazon wishlist - I mean,
I have one. I don’t expect stuff to be bought off it. I just have mine as a “Sigh… if only…” list, and in a way, it shows people what I am into.
Now, to me, a wishlist is not just a link to Amazon. If I were to make my Ultimate Wishlist
of Ultimate Destiny, it would truly be of epic proportions. Some of it would be easily attainable… other stuff not. Some cheap, some expensive. And most of it not via Amazon.
Example:
COMPUTER STUFF
Domains - jocasta.nu and little-miss.geek.nz/miss.geek.nz
Adobe Creative Suite 3
PLACES TO VISIT
Disneyland
Great Britain
Australia Zoo (or whatever it is that was run by Steve Irwin)
Greece
Italy
Egypt
Troy
THINGS TO SEE
Beauty and the Beast on stage
Wicked on stage
Avenue Q on stage
… actually, make that anything on Broadway.
I swear I had more than this, but okay. It must be because I gave blood this afternoon, and am still a little bit out of it. In fact, I’m starting to nod off right now, and it’s just gone past eight.
Ah well… I’ll sleep well tonight, I guess.
In other news, today was Surprise Field Trip OMGYAY Day!
Instead of staying in the classroom playing with Macromedia Adobe Flash (”Watch me make a
ball bounce up and down, Mum!” :D) we went to the WDANZ conference, where we were allowed to sit in on a few seminars. Which was cool.
I really liked the one on SEO, so before I fall asleep on my keyboards, I’m going to do a few quick things to help.
Oh, and speaking of SEO (of sorts),
Disdainful-Soul.net has an
Alexa ranking. 2,818,615 to be exact.
Amynta.org has an Alexa of 6,305,760. I’ll update in a week with what they are then. Hopefully lower.
