Ended up pretty stressful. The family part of the weekend was great. We had a very good time with everyone and truly enjoyed our time together. We played games most of the weekend actually! Pop the Pig and CandyLand mostly but we did play Chutes and Ladders, Connect 4 and Memory as well. Yes, they are all toddler or children's games but we have a toddler here. We played Just Dance as well and had a great time! I really enjoyed spending time with my family.
Now to the crappy part of the weekend. My dad was supposed to check the oil last week...of course he never did but nobody said it to me. Naturally, we run out of oil and nobody around my neck of the woods delivers on a fricken weekend. We live in a very very small town so they are all private owned companies and of course are not open weekends. So we ended up buying kerosene last night around 6 pm. That was great...was finally warm in here and had hot water, only for it to run out at 4 am. Yay us!! We had a 10 hour period over the whole weekend of warmth and hot water. Oh joy!! And had company all weekend on top of it. We ended up keeping the family, obviously, but had no choice but to buy kerosene which is very expensive, just to last a mere 10 hours. If we were poor, we'd be screwed. Not that we are rich, by far are we rich, but we aren't poor. Just made the weekend sucky in that aspect. So now we sit here with no heat or hot water, yet again. I cannot bathe AGAIN. And gotta go to work tomorrow. Fun!! My sister knew about our situation and asked us to come down. Funny thing is, they were sleeping all day...where on earth were we supposed to go in her house?? It's nice to offer something but if you can't do it anyways and know it, why offer? Then never even called to see if we were okay...but if it were them, we'd help them. In fact, we did which is why we have no heat because they have our heaters! So instead of giving our heaters back, we had to sit in the cold all weekend..well it's not even over.
Well I do hope that everyone has a good weekend! Please if it is cold in your neck of the woods, be safe and warm. It's only been a high of around 35° here and snowy (again). Take care everyone!
