& the mac & cheese *all* tastes like the box it came in!

I remember really liking two foods ...well. "foods"...from my childhood. Bugles were big then and I loved them. But, has anybody tasted those things lately? It's like they sprayed some salt into a bugle shape and let it set for six months to dessicate and then put it in a box & sent it out.

I am now having a similar experience with the Toosie Roll I just stole out of Claire's goodie bag from the birthday party I took her to today. (I know. Shut up.) Didn't they used to taste a little bit like chocolate? The thing I just ate tasted like a sugary turd.

Does the same maturation of taste buds that allows me to really enjoy Vouvray French white wine mean I can no longer stomach these simpler pleasures? Or are they fiddling with the formula down at the plant to cut down on production costs? Hmm.
