Hello.
Due to Mercury being in Retrograde or something my computer borked itself and then we couldn't connect it to the internet but now I am BACK (in pyjamas, not black).
The good news is that my living arrangements will be unaffected for six months after Paul is away. I can just afford the rent =) After six months is another story, but we'll come to that when we come to it. Lots of paper pushing going on in court. In short, he'll be in prison early to mid July. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. I suppose the sooner he goes the sooner he gets out. But that's not much of a consolation really.
Have seen Iron 1 Man in preparation for seeing Iron 2 Man. The first half of the movie I thought was stupid, but by the end I thought it was all very grouse. I wouldn't mind an Iron Man suit. Although I do believe I'd get in trouble with air traffic control living where I do. I also saw Date Night, which I loved. I have such lower expectations than I used to. I suppose it's because I live so far from the cinemas that show more alternative films (and video stores that stock them) and also because I'm broke I'm less likely to take a gamble on the latest Danish flick. My inner European Studies student is not impressed.
Mood's been pretty good lately, health's been pretty crap. For now I seem to be in control of my eustachean tubes.
I went out with Katie to Sebastian's last night, but stupidly ordered carbonara, which was lactose-rich. ANYWAY. It was so lovely to see her, we were both stupidly tired and I believe I wasn't very good company. I'm so antisocial at the moment, I'm pretty much housebound most of the time. When Paul goes away I'll probably need some sort of intervention to drag me outside to get some vitamin D. His birthday is on the 13th and I don't know what to get him, for once! I wanted to get him the collected works of Buffy, but I can't afford it. He has so much stuff already, too many DVDs to watch, too many CDs to listen to. I'm sure I'll think of something. I want to make him a cake =D
Adam Hills and his paramour had a baby and they named her Beatrice. I have a friend called Beatrice. I call her Be-a-treece or Beezus.
Feeling a bit disjointed in the thoughtal region. Canst thou tell?
I'm worried about this country politically. The right wing party of Australia is gaining ground, and so far the leader Tony Abott has:
a) Worn speedos as some sort of political stunt
b) Divulged that he used to want to join a monastery, and has been very shove-down-the-throat-y about his Christianity (Rudd is a Christian, but keeps his religion out of politics)
c) Opined that Australia should have compulsory (Christian) religious classes for primary schools
d) Supported his colleague who is calling to ban the burqua
e) Banged on and on about how many boat people are coming to our shores because Labor are in power. It's not as if some poor Sudanese person went 'GREAT. Rudd's in power, let's all hop on the boat.' It's a little thing called a GFC, coupled with the trickle-down effect it has on already impoverished nations. We'd be getting that amount of people in no matter who's in power. I suppose Abbot would prefer we shot them, like those pesky Aboriginal people we had around a while ago.
f) Absolutely no idea about health. At least Rudd is trying to implement a system that NO, won't work immediately, dillhole, but in time will bring much needed reform. Rudd is actually trying to implement paid maternity leave (which every Western country has but us) and is increasing numbers of hospital beds for the mentally ill!
YARG. If he gets in power, I am moving to Canada. It's not that I love Rudd, I think he's made an absolute joke of the global warming situation, and also has totally botched his education plan. But at least he's intelligent and presentable and I'm not deeply ashamed of him on the world stage. The man learnt Chinese, people. I really believe Abbot is worse than Howard, and that's saying something.
Oh now I am depressed.
Hope you are well, internetters.
