They had been searching for quite some time, now. And while Japan had taken his breaks for rest and food, he wasn't quite sure if America had been. It was worrying. This relationship he had with Tatsumi was seeming stranger by the minute, and he could do nothing but hold his tongue about it. Tch...

He flicked some wet bangs from his eyes, squinting through the dark and rain. How much longer would--

Oh.

There, lightning flashed, revealing the figure just a little bit away. Japan didn't wait to turn back to America, though he was rather sure the other should have spotted him by now, too. "America-san!"

Let's reflect on America's past behavior to determine whether he has been using his breaks for food and rest: his first winter in Discedo, he keeled over from a mixture of pneumonia and starvation after running food to his citizens non-stop. When Canada was possessed by a demon, he puked a goddamn polar bear and didn't rest until he blew up said demon with a rocket launcher. And let's not forget his usual 'I'll fix it later' method of dealing with his wounds.

That is to say, America was being fueled purely by his own glory. Yes.

Japan was wrong about one thing, at least. America didn't spot Tatsumi. It's hard to see with water all over your glasses and exhaustion pressing at your eyes. But when he called out, America's head whipped around until he spotted the figure below.

A pressing urge to say something epic rose in his chest, yet his mind blanked. What he said instead was much more desperate and predictable than America would have liked.

"TATSUMI!"What a waste of a perfectly good thunderstorm. Really, he's going to have to ( ... )

Th rain really brought out the smell of some things and yet covered the scent of others. Had Tatsumi not just puked up blood, perhaps he would have caught onto America's familiar scent before Japan shouted to him. Tatsumi's heightened hearing picked up on Japan's voice, so by the time he turned around, he was smiling at his name being desperately called.

Red eyes focused on the countries, more so on America. This is exactly what he needed. America always had abundant amounts of blood. Japan was with him too, maybe he could even try his blood too. Tatsumi had been curious for a while.... then again America might get upset, but that particular thought didn't stay too long him the werepire's conscious. With a not-quite-right grin Tatsumi salutes up to his boyfriend, "Ya! I'm cool!! Ya came at just the right time!! I'm starvin!"

Another flash of lightning before cracks across the sky just as Tatsumi finishes his hello, emphasizing on the fact he is starving. How poetic... or something.

Japan frowns down at Tatsumi. Something about that grin just isn't right, and it's really not surprising. The nation brings a cautious hand to the hilt of his sword, not moving his eyes from the werepire.

"Remember that I am trusting you, America-san," he speaks just loud enough for the other country to hear. Right. This plan... wasn't one he was fond of. But he was hoping it would work.
