Where: Spero!
When: This morning

Summary: The boat arrives at Spero. First day in Spero; exploration abounds? Best way to do this is probably to just make your own threads with where your character(s) are going in the subject line, but however everyone wants to do this works.

THE CITY. THEY'RE LOST. gavemyword July 10 2010, 16:04:49 UTC
Zoro dropped anchor while Seifer was talking. If the man thought he was listening then he obviously had to get to know Zoro a little better.

But... that was then; probably a few hours ago but Zoro certainly wasn't counting. The now is a little more complicated, unfortunately. You'd wanted to go to the mall, right Luffy? Well, too bad, you let Zoro take the lead. He's probably going to walk you all off a cliff or tree or some random-- but still incorrect-- building somewhere.

It might be a good idea to try and stop him now.

Just a suggestion.

Of course Chopper had paid attention, just because this was probably useful information he could use to get himself and the rest of the crew out of danger. Unfortunately, he hadn't been given much time to make sure everyone else (mainly Zoro and Luffy) had listened to Seifer's speech, because by the time he was trying to look for his captain and their swordsman, the two were already getting off the ship.

After some loud complaining and arguing, the three had decided to head to the mall together.

Hours later, Chopper wondered if that had been a good idea at all. From his current seat on someone's shoulders (he'd asked for a piggy-back ride. Zoro refused. Guess who didn't?), he craned his neck around to get a good look at their current unknown location. They were nowhere near the mall. In fact, this looked like they were near the hospital.

"I'm pretty sure we're lost right now."

"We're not lost."

Holding onto Chopper's legs and little hooves to keep the reindeer upright, he glanced around at their location. They had only made a left and a right, or was it a right and then a left? And then they turned by that tree...

No, they definitely knew where they were going.

Not that Luffy had even bothered listening to Seifer's speech. His mind stopped at 'you're free to do whatever' and went to 'MALL!' but then...

This wasn't the mall. His brows furrowed as he looked around, and then he just pointed forward.

"That way! The mall's gotta be over there."

"Don't be stupid." Glancing back at Luffy, Zoro pointed in the direction they'd just come from. Right, left... It was all the same now that he'd stopped looking straight ahead. "The mall's that way."

Chopper tapped a hoof at the top of Luffy's head, trying to get his attention.

"Put me down! You're both wrong! I know where it is from here. I'll take us there! You guys are hopeless."

"But it was this way last time! Zoro was with us last time, he knows, right?"

Even though Zoro didn't remember being there. And trusting Zoro for directions was really stupid. Luffy still reached up and took hold of Chopper's arms pulling the reindeer from his shoulders. And down he went! Follow the deer time!

"Wasn't it that way last time?"

"I hope you know where you're going, Chopper." Not that he had a problem following their doctor down whatever path he'd chosen. Zoro was just being reasonably skeptical about the whole thing, especially since nothing they passed looked familiar.

Wonder why that was...

"How does he know, he doesn't remember stuff from last time!" Giving a small sigh, Chopper waited to be put down and when he was he just looked over his shoulder up at Zoro and frowned. "You're not allowed to say that when you can't even remember being here."

With a little huff and his head held high, Chopper pointed straight ahead. "That way. Just follow me."

And down that way they headed, staying focused on getting them to the mall this time.

Unfortunately, too focused. All he heard was a short, quiet squeak. Then a snarl. Chopper paused, wondering if Luffy was goofing around. As he turned, he froze dead in his tracks for a second as one of Spero's resident R.O.U.S leapt at him, apparently deciding Chopper would be a really nice pint-sized snack. However, at the last minute Chopper practically screamed and scrambled for the safest thing he could hold onto. That ended up being Luffy's face.

"AAAAAAHHH!!"

"Oh yeah!"

Luffy laughed. He forgot Zoro didn't remember, but then again, it wasn't that big of a deal. As long as he was here, and not getting lost anymore. And Chopper's very reasonable logic invalidated Luffy's idea, and Zoro's directions, so he just took a step to follow the reindeer.

Straight ahead. Worked for him! As long as they got there.

Until the snarl had Luffy glancing about, and soon blinded by a fistful of fur. His arms flailed about.

"AAAGH CHOWAAAAHAAAAA! G'AFF!"

Or, in logical sentences, 'Agh, Chopper, get off!' Maaan, he didn't even get to see the whatever-it-was! And there was no way he could fight it with Chopper on his face either. Zoro, haaaalp.

Zoro was usually on the receiving end of Chopper's Facehugger impressions, so it was a nice change to see Luffy flailing about instead. He didn't have much time to enjoy the sight, considering the giant rat-bear hunting their little reindeer bro had decided to turn its attention to the other pirates in the group.

With the Captain temporarily incapacitated by a face full of reindeer, Zoro drew a sword and figured it wasn't worth Luffy's attention anyway.

Now that it had lost the element of surprise, it was a simple matter for Zoro to parry the oncoming bite. He stabbed it through the face using the rat's downward momentum and boot-stomped heavily on its neck when it made signs to get back up. It squealed loudly, once, then twitched a paw. Possibly flipping him the bird, but Zoro wouldn't know unless Chopper translated for him.

Well, at least they knew what they were having for dinner tonight.

Chopper had very little time to pay attention to what had happened after he'd clung onto Luffy's face for dear life, yelling and crying and blubbering random things like, "I don't wanna die!" or, "You guys don't die either!" and the most important one, "Are you two okay?!"

He couldn't hear the rat, and things were oddly quiet except for his own panicked noises. His grip on Luffy's loosened up but he still had no real plans to get off him. Sorry captain.

"I-I-IS IT GONE?! WHAT HAPPENED?!"

Luffy still couldn't see. He could barely hear over Chopper's blubbering but he did catch the sudden silence as Zoro killed the rat. Oh, cool, dinner! Reaching up, he just shoved the reindeer over so he wasn't obscuring his vision; he didn't care if Chopper stayed up there, but he wanted to see where he was going.

"Zoro got us dinner!" he said gleefully. Pointing to the thing, his eyes lit up. "Can we eat it now?"

"It's dead."

Zoro hefted the rat-bear up by the tail, hanging it over one shoulder with a grunt. His sword was still out and bloody, so he wiped if off on the carcass.

"Not now, Luffy. We have to get to the mall."

Thus saying, he's now going to start heading in the wrong direction of your choice.

He just clung tightly to the top of Luffy's head, not worrying about the change in position. After a little while he finally managed to stop the tears and snot from running down his face, realizing they (specifically him) were no longer in danger.

Rubbing over his face to clean up his face, Chopper shook his head. "Not right now, like Zoro said. We've got somewhere to go to first. Maybe when we--"

It was then that he realized Zoro was starting to walk.

In a direction he should not be going in.

"OI, ZORO! THAT'S THE WRONG WAY!"

Once Chopper cleared up his eyes, Luffy didn't care if he clung. The hat was fine, and Chopper would be too, so he left it be.

He was about to sulk when Zoro said they couldn't stop for lunchtime, but the mall held promise for his interests. Adventure was okay, and then they could eat it for lunch! Sounded like a good enough plan for him.

Halting in a step behind Zoro, Luffy pointed in the opposite way of Zoro. "That way?" he asked.

"Yeah, that way." IT WAS A LIE. But Zoro was going to be smooth as polished silver about it.

He took point, letting Chopper direct him from on top of Luffy's shoulders. The path didn't make sense to him-- it was long and winding and much too roundabout for the route he'd had in mind-- but they got to the mall eventually. The rat had stopped bleeding when they were about halfway there and the bristly fur was starting to make his neck itch.

"We'd better look for supplies. Ropes, cloth, anything we can salvage..." Zoro scratched at his neck inattentively, looking at Luffy; he's going to take his cues from you, captain.
