Everything had been so distracting recently. Trying to be acting captain of a ship wasn't easy. Save for the two days that seemed to be a hole in his memory - one he attributed to over-exhaustion - he'd been working non-stop. Trying to map out schematics, getting a crew together, finding the supplies ( ... )

Avoiding the swordsman had been at the very top of his priority list the last two weeks and it had been surprisingly easy to do so - the Straw Hats didn't see all that much of each other as it was and for once Sanji was grateful for that little inconvenience. He'd noticed it in their last meeting, too. The sudden way he'd tensed up and took off without saying anything. But it didn't even occur to Zoro that their situations were so similiar. In fact, they were identical, but he couldn't fathom the idea that Sanji, Sanji of all people could fall prey to a situation as unnerving as this. Not the great lover of women ( ... )

The cook responded with a short nod, poured the other man a glass of the Northern Lights trademark rotgut with mechanical movements. For a brief moment he thought about taking one himself to steady his shaky nerves but if it was one thing he trusted even less than his voice right now it was his tolerance to alcohol. No need to make things even worse ( ... )
