If there was one thing Kai knew, it was that he shouldn't go out in his current condition. Blood was staining his back, with his skin slightly frayed in a few areas, wracking his entire body with pain. Yet, when it came to being a team captain, all of that pain was quickly ignored. He wouldn't let Discedo mess with his team.

And so, he went out of the apartment room, still in the clothes and condition he was in on Suzaku's back. He commanded the phoenix to find Byakko and Rei, however she could. Suzaku obliged, off on finding the lightning tiger and his beyblader.

After a few minutes of searching for Rei, Kai found him narrowing his eyes immediately. Nodding his head to Suzaku, he took out Dranzer, attaching it to its' launcher.

"Rei Kon, stand down." He ordered, his voice unwavering, strong. "I won't tell you again."

There was Kai- his familiar stance and form ringing bells. Rei was supposed to trust Kai, and perhaps he did at one point, and it felt a little strange to behave this way. His body still shook, even as he leapt off Byakko to take his stance, too, launcher and beyblade ready. He'd been training a lot under Kai before, thankfully, and he could at least defend himself hand-to-hand.

Because he couldn't trust Kai, not now.

"No-" he muttered at first before raising his voice, "I won't, Kai! I won't!"

So, his suspicions were right. Whatever was going on affected Rei, as well. Kai should've figured that Discedo would try this kind of crap. However, he knew the raw power that Team BBA had, and that they'd get through this no matter what.

His only hope was that still rung true in this city, as they were pitted against the odds.

Glaring and also snarling, he scoffed and held up his launcher. "Then will you beybattle me?" Yes, Kai. A beybattle is exactly what you need, especially in this kind of condition. Then again, common sense in him was slowly draining due to his sleeplessness, restlessness, and the hunger and dehydration that plagued his body.

Though, it was common knowledge to his teammates that he had a lot worse than a few days without sleep, a hungry belly and a dry throat. Why should he let something like this get him down this easily?

Meanwhile, Suzaku stared down at Byakko, flapping her wings at the tiger almost threateningly. She gave off a scoff, narrowing her eyes.

"Byakko!" Without a warning, Rei unleashed his beyblade, a command for the real Byakko beside him to dart forward as well. He wasn't going to back down, not even if he was beaten. There was a sense that this was life or death, that he had to fight in the most brutal manner. Again, he couldn't help but feel a little strange in a different way. The movements were unfamiliar, and he had no memory of ever behaving like this before.

But for now, he was blinded by fear, absolutely desperate to claw and fight. It helped that Kai looked a little worse for wear (and for once, Rei didn't feel like a cheater, like he was being dishonorable).

"Head straight for him, Byakko! Show them no mercy!" Even his battle strategy was a little skewed. Did he notice? Did he care? Not particularly. Headfirst, in this situation, was the best way to get things done.
