Testament's walk was with an almost heavy heart as he moved along the pathway to the high school. The road was clear of Heartless, not even a single Shadow rearing its head to bother him. He was glad, really...he had no more will for violence after Justice had invaded his mind. That entire day still played in his mind when he closed his eyes...her voice ringing in his ears.

But it all seemed so less when his thoughts moved to Haruka. And his heart lifted itself up when he finally reached Room 104, and gave a pensive knock.

Kantarou had been rather clever when he had claimed his lodgings. One room could only be accessed through the other, thus claiming one gave you both! Of course when he had first sought out the rooms he had planned to hold classes. No one had shown much of an interest in them so he had recently abandoned the activity. Anyway, he had only wanted to do such a thing as a distraction ( ... )

Haruka's eyes snapped open, and he turned his head slowly to the side when he heard the knock at the door in the distance. Once he overheard Kantarou mention Testament's name, he pulled himself up slowly to sit up. His stomach still felt tender from how unwell he felt the previous day, but all it did was cause him to wince from the soreness and catch his breath for a few extra seconds.

He made a face as his master hammed it up. It was annoying, and he could read into his acting easily. Frankly, he could have smacked Kantarou over the head for it. Unfortunately, all he could do was grumble at the far wall before picking up his chawan-the broken and chipped bowl that was his treasure as a tengu-, and take a sip of the water.

Looking down at his blankets, he spoke loudly enough for the two to hear. "...Let him in."

...The only state that came to Testament's mind upon seeing the ridiculously false enthusiasm Kantarou presented was confusion. He stood in the doorway and just BLINKED at him. He opened his mouth in an attempt to speak a few times, but nothing came. This gratuitous display of Japanese hospitality made him want just...hit the small man. But that urge was quelled quickly.

Because he heard that familiar voice, and he couldn't help but give the slightest smile. "Tea would be nice, Kantarou, but do not feel the need to go out of your way. You have no obligation to force your enthusiasm," he responded simply.

If Testament had hit him he could have thrown a fit, he could have thrown him out. But, alas he would do what Haruka wanted, which was to visit with this man. He preferred Sugino.

"I can give you water," he seemed to be loosing interest in the charade, after all he didn't have anything substantial to gain from false pretenses.

If one looked they would notice ofuda pasted on the walls. Not covering them completely, but in key locations none the less. His desk also was covered in papers, some of it looked like writing for a long paper, the rest of it were other charms and creations of his favored occupation.

Kantarou lead the way across the room to the second rooms door on the back hallway. He opened the door and then knelt down outside next to it.

"Haruka sama, your guest has arrived" he said in Japanese in an effected tone acting like a servant of some big powerful lord. But his acting wasn't anywhere near proper and was still just a continuation of the stupid game. "My lord will see you now," he finished up in English.

One of Haruka's eyebrows gave a light twitch. He missed the quieter bits of conversation through the walls, but it wasn't hard to tell where it might be going otherwise. He returned the chawan back by his bedside, waiting and trying to mind his patience. His freedom was less limited than Testament's in terms of how he carried himself in front of his master, but his fatigue was the only thing keeping him down. Karma would be owed.

The tengu gave a blink as the door opened, and as he saw Kantarou kneeling down beside it. "...-sama?" This was ridiculous, and Haruka wasn't shy about making that known. "What the hell are you doing?" He muttered back to him.

Haruka shook his head with a sigh, pressing a hand against his forehead. He could feel a headache coming on.

Testament had moved past annoyance and now more to amusement as Kantarou's charade continued. Normally, this much Japanese ANYTHING would draw his ire quite well. But after the initial feeling had worn away...no, now it was just silly. He gave Kantarou an honest nod and smile in thanks for what he was doing. No doubt it was taking all of his willpower not to scuffle with the Gear...

Testament moved slowly to the space beside Haruka's "bed", taking a seat on the floor and adjusting himself into a comfortable...if not a bit noble...position. When he faced Haruka, his face was gentle...

"Only trying to do my best to please you my lord," he replied to Haruka in Japanese. Acting like a brat was his most common way of acting out. Without Youko there was little to stop him too.

The minute Testament was inside he closed the door behind him, leaving it opened a crack. He placed himself with his back against the wall and planned to eavesdrop on them until the Gear went away.

Kantarou wasn't a fool, a fight with Testament would make Haruka angry, and get himself hurt most like it. No, he was a manipulator and devious. He tended to act out his displeasure through more underhanded means.

His tempter flared, and he glared back at Kantarou. "Do you want to die?" He retorted with a slight baring of his fangs. It was an empty threat, since there was no further movement to go along with it, but he did clench the other hand into a fist.

After the Gear had entered, Haruka clicked his tongue and averted his eyes away from Testament. "Sorry about that..." He apologized, quietly and half-reluctantly on behalf of the brat.

Then he shifted himself around, and looking up at Testament's gentle face he couldn't help but find his shyness again. He fumbled around for the right words, looking down toward his lap while the bangs of his hair overshadowed his face every so slightly. "You look well, but are you sure that you're all right?" A pang of guilt hit him. "I don't need to know what you saw, in order to start worrying about you..."

And Testament could say the very same...perhaps that worry was part of what brought him back to himself that day. But for now, he would spare those words. He gave a smile to Haruka as he spoke, his eyes drifting away. Things like this...hmm, he believed he could handle it now.

"This is something I have had to cope with for a long time...it was just unfortunately and abruptly brought to the forefront of my being. It...really goes back to what I was before meeting Dizzy," Testament said...the beginnings of his own explanation.

He stuck his tongue out at Haruka from behind the door at his threat. They were... they were... it made him angry. It did, it was sappy and just... he was horribly jealous!

Haruka opened up with Testament so easily, yet he felt like he was constantly being pushed away. He didn't know how to continue, he had felt his relationship with Haruka had developed so well! Yet, Haruka didn't know of half of it. He was afraid that such different situations would make everything different, and not what he had wanted at all.

No one needed a love interest!

He made a loud thump from where he sat just outside the door. Even in this alien place he was threatened. Not only to do with his possessive nature over Haruka, but his feelings that he himself didn't fit in. Haruka was doing a lot better job at it.

Haruka eyed the Gear, pulling one knee up and slinging his arm over it so that he could be more comfortable. He listened and wondered... In the end, it all boiled down to memories, didn't it? Testament always had his, but was given the time he needed to take them in.

He, on the other hand... "Time..." He spoke quietly to himself. "Is that all that will be needed in order for me to cope as well?" The tengu let his eyes drift close. "...There's too much to explain, but on that day I found what I was looking for in the worst way... my memories."

He clutched at his blanket. "Just as Kantarou was haunted by the ghost of his dead mother, I was haunted by... Fuji. The one who possessed me before my power and memories were sealed."

"...so that's what it was," Testament wondered aloud, returning his gaze to Haruka. How...how cruel that was. And he honestly didn't know which was better anymore, but Haruka would soon find out. Was it best to know the beast you once were? Or to live in ignorance of one's sin...

"So Fuji was to you like Justice was to me, it seems. She claimed me as one of hers and had me destroy all that was left of what was once my human identity. To the world, Tess Undersn never existed. In a way, he still does not," he said in soft words.

"But for you...hmmm...for you I have to wonder what it was like. I shouldn't, but I do. Should I feel ashamed to be so curious?"

Haruka was going to tell HIM wasn't he!? This pissed him off. He wanted to know... he, he had really really wanted to know. In his dreams he imagined heart to heart talks, where he could know about the history of Haruka, and he could share his own. Walking down the streets of his home town, going to the places he had lived and enjoyed.

This wasn't fair!

He fell over sideways with a thud. He would be good though, or at least try. If he did something to make Haruka hate him it would be really really bad right now.

This didn't stop him from banging his fists on the ground like a child throwing a mild tantrum though.

Haruka shook his head slowly. It was natural to feel that way, especially given the level of care. "I..." A painful jolt shocked through his system, causing him to hold onto his head with his hands. "Ugh..." It wasn't like before though. The flood of his memories wasn't so intense that he couldn't bear it, couldn't control it, but still...

Don't leave me...
Don't leave me...

I don't want to belong to anyone else...

I love you... My oni-kui tengu... Mine...

"Shut up..." He pleaded to no one in particular, as memories of the ghost of that women were still fresh in his mind. Her touch that he could to nothing about, weak, helpless and alone. "I am..." His past. A kiss, a piece of clothing thrown down in a heap, the blurry image of blood over fingers and claws... his.

No, no, no...! Haruka shook his head, pulling his knees closer to his chest. "I am...!"

"Haruka!" Testament was quick to fly from his seated position, placing hands on the other man's shoulders in a strong, yet caring hold. He made attempts to to make eye contact, but none could be had. He knew this well...the pain of memory and the burden of its weight. There were times...especially like when Justice invaded his mind, that he could recall Kliff's dying face, the blood staining his beard as he spoke his last words to Testament...

No matter what happens...I am proud of you...my son...

It was then he heard the thumping sound of Kantarou's movement. No time to be upset over eavesdropping. "Kantarou! Come here! He needs help!" he called out, knowing that Kantarou would know what to do far better than he.
