Finally.
Yes, I'm aware of the fact I've hardly posted since starting my new job. I've just been flat out all day and exhausted at nights and over the weekends. I know you've all been missing my words of wisdom, so here's a little something to keep you going.
It's awesome having a proper job. I got paid tonight. $1080. I don't know if my bank balance has ever gone into four figures before. I'm going to buy an iPod video tomorrow.
Being a professional is also awesome in that I can go tie shopping. Yes, a tie is a statement. I'm starting a collection. I have eight so far, nine if you count my old school tie that's at the back of my cupboard.
One negative thing about the job is a nasty clash with one of the girls in my training group. After she passed a racist "joke" on to me via email, I let her know that it was offensive and shouldn't have been forwarded on. And her reply? "OMG get over it, it was a joke". Now I'm not exactly an expert on customer service, workplace relations and all that, but I know that when you start soliciting racist material you are on fucking thin ice. It's my fault for being offended? Fuck off and die you stupid bitch.
Onto other things. MegaMusic are fucktards. My cab was playing up, so since it was under warranty I took it down there to have it looked at. They said it wasn't a problem. Then when I went to pick it up today they told me I had to pay $90. I don't fucking think so. I argued and threatened to take my custom elsewhere but ended up meeting them halfway, paying $45. I doubt I'll be back.
The football has been exciting but disappointing. Spurs lost control of 4th place on the final day of the season all because their players ate some dodgy lasagne the night before the game. It was too short notice to change the squad, so the players had to play the most important game of their lives only minutes after blowing chunks and shitting typhoons. That's my team!
