I had planned on writing a Gender-Bender version of Alice in Wonderland... here's one of the scenes I've written.
Title: Allen In Wonderland
Genre: Drama, Fantasy
Rating: PG
Word Count: 100+
Summary: Allen hears a figure in the night and goes to investigate, he sees the mirror in the hall shining like a star and soon discovers wonderland.
Scene:
(Allen hears a noise in the hallway in the middle of the night and goes to investigate it. As he gets close to the mirror he sees the gold frame of the mirror glow brightly in the moonlight that shines from the window at the end of the hall way.)
Allen:
There's nothing here
(A silloutte of a girl comes from the dark end of the hallway, her features go unsee as she moves in front of the window and blocks the moon.)
Allen:
Hey who are you? (he's nervous and edges closer to the figure)
(The figure doesn't answer instead moves down the hall and then faces the now glowing mirror and steps into it. The surface of the mirror, ripples like pond water. Curious Allen runs toward the mirror and looks into the mirror, expecting to only see his reflection.)
Allen:
What kind of a mirror is this? (he reaches out and touches the mirror and it ripples as his hand goes through it, surprised he pulls back)
The girl:
Come on Allen, we're waiting for you
Allen:
(backs away from the mirror) Who's waiting? And how do you know my name?
The girl:
Step through the glass (extends her hand through the mirror and to Allen)
Allen:
I have a bad feeling about this (nervously takes hold of her hand and lets her pull him into the mirror)
(Allen steps into the mirror and his feet rest on a black floor, he's standing next to the girl who he notices has almond shaped green eyes and a highly decorated top hat onto her head. Everything around them was dark except for the tiny stars dotting the space around them.)
Allen:
What is this place? (he looks around confused)
The girl:
It's the divide, we can't stay here long or the winds will blow us away
Allen:
The winds?
The girl:
Come on (pulls him through a silver-white opening identical to the one behind him.)
(A bright light filled his vision as they moved through the glittering apeture and into a forest, a starlit sky and looming willow trees, a soft breeze tosses his blond hair into his eyes.)
Allen:
what is this place? (looks around to see oversized flowers, mushrooms and trees, they remind him of a story his mother read to him)
The girl:
Wonderland... don't you remember?
Allen:
Remember... I was here before?
The girl:
Of course you were, your mom brought you here (begins to drag him through the forest, occasionally leaves would brush against his face)
Allen:
My mom... she was here too?
The girl:
She came to Wonderland when she was little, she and my dad were best friends
Allen:
Wait my mother... came to this place?
(They walk to a clearing up ahead and on top of a large leafy plant was a blue caterpillar smoking a hookah.)
Allen:
Absolum? (looks to the catepillar curiously as it blows dark blue smoke from it's mouth)
The girl:
I knew you remember (excited and jumps up and down, still holding onto his hand)
Allen:
No... the stories my mom used to tell me... (the girl stops jumping, her grip on Allen's hand slips completely)
(The girl steps towards the caterpillar and looks to him imploringly.)
The girl:
Absolum... he doesn't remember... is there something wrong?
Allen:
Why am I supposed to remember this? Isn't this just a dream? (also steps forward leaning down to look at the smoking caterpillar)
Absolum:
He'll remember in due time... (takes a puff from his hookah and blows smoke into Allen's face)
Allen:
(coughs, waving his hand to get the smoke out of his mouth and lungs) Could you not to that?
(Absolum laughed deeply the smoke from the hookah billowing around the blond teen, Allen coughs, squeezing his eyes shut as his eyes start to burn.)
The girl:
(whispers softly into his ear) Come back soon
(When Allen opens his eyes he is back in his room, the moonlight pouring in from his window, and he's in his bed sitting on top of the covers.)
Allen:
It was a dream... just a dream (falls back into his bed to fall asleep, his eyes suddenly heavy with sleep)
