Grudgematch: True Blood v. Twilight (and other stuff)

Ah, LJ how I fail at you.

I've nearly posted so many times in the past few months but I get to the daunting update page and my fingers just won't type :(. I've spent the last little while lurking like a lurking lurker who lurks and only occasionally posting. I fail. I think its because most of my main shows finished for the summer so I sort of fell ( Read more... )

HEY! *waves* It appears that we were meant for each other because at the moment my life is pretty much E/S and a touch of LUX thrown in for good measure :D. Merlin FATE must've brought us together! (I'm pretty sure I've seen you around camelot_love although I've been terrible at keeping track of LJ recently).

*rolls eyes* Beel can go meet the true death or at least move far far away (with Jessica), I love Jessica and Bill - the daddy/daughter relationship is ALL I want to see Bill in.

I agree with you on Bill- I hate the dude. The thing that gets me that people in the fandom and in the show don't seem to see is that yes, Eric can be an asshole, but he mostly tells the truth and he COMPLETELY OWNS being an asshole. Which is infinitely sexy. Beel, however, is a liar, a cheater, cheesy as hell, and, worst of all, he's self-righteous which is incredibly annoying. The only way I like him is with Jessica, its a nice little relationship they've got going on. Put him with Sookie and I instantly despise both of them :(. Oh, and I could do with less B/S sex scenes. Generally, I don't mind but after twenty times an episode it gets tedious.

I think Pam has somehow become my constant favorite. Her dry wit and sarcasm. I love her in the books and I love her in the show and when she was getting tortured i was like BUT-BUT IT'S PAM! P A M !!!! ERIC DO SOMETHING!

PAM is frickin AWESOME. She's exactly the same as book!Pam, I love it. Pam and Eric's r/ship is definitely the most stable, functional and normal out of the entire show, which is sorta odd when you come to think about it. My favourite line of the night was "blah blah vampire emergency blah"!

Eric and Sookie just have something AND OMG, I WAS ALL - IT'S NOT A DREAM - TOO LOL. FINALLY . . . and okay maybe he chained her up in the basement but he does love her.

I KNOW RIGHT? IT WASN'T A DREAM!!! (although the dream she did have was damn sexy and quite interesting when you think about it being Sookie's subconscious talking to her...not trusting Bill, having feelings for Eric...). That non-dream kiss though was sexy as hell, possibly the best kiss on TB so far.

It may make me twisted as hell but I don't even have a problem with Eric chaining her up in his basement. Despite it being a setback for E/S, it makes sense, especially after his conversation with Pam. He doesn't want to die. If he dies, Russell will come after Sookie (and probably Pam), so his best bet is using Sookie (even though he doesn't want to). So he didn't tell her his plan. Its not the worst thing in the world (not as bad as what Bill has kept from her!).

I lol'd at Sookie's "I get it, okay! I'm irresistible!" - Um Sook what's YOUR excuse for cheating on your (oh god is it) fiancee now?

Good point! I hadn't thought about that. Yes, she attempted to push him away for like half a second, but then she was totally into it. So, not as totally in love with Bill as you claim then, Sookie?

Cate and Baze . . . the roadtrip one where they went to meet her deadbeat dad and sung in the car and shared a bad . . . did make me a little more on their side. BUT HE DROPPED THE BALL with the wedding.

HURRAH! Someone to discuss LUX with! I LOVED that roadtrip! You're right though, poor Baze was pretty terrible at getting in touch with his real feelings. Despite my unrepentant lust obsession fondness for Baze, he's not exactly a 'keeper', at least not right now. Ryan is so wonderful, he's almost superhuman. Although I sorta feel like Cate isn't good enough for Ryan- but she's just as damaged as Baze so they're better suited.

Its such a quirky little show, I started watching because I love SA and loved her in Roswell, and continued watching coz I wasn't sure where it was going.

Same here, I loved her in Roswell, yet another good little show, and LUX intrigued me. Especially because she still looks about 15 which is just totally unfair.

WOW LONG POST! SORRY (I get rather overenthusiastic when it comes to my current obsessions...)
