PREMISE
In September of 1997, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, already deep into their task of finding and destroying Lord Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes, did not return to school. The rest of their classmates - save for the unfortunate few Muggleborns who were either thrown into prison or forced into hiding - anxiously awaited the reopening of Hogwarts, and received little piece of mind from an announcement requiring every school-age student to return. After a gruesome battle and the murder of their headmaster, the school re-opened completely changed from the one that they had known and loved.
With Severus Snape as the new Headmaster, most students knew right away that Hogwarts had changed for the worse, but few were able to imagine the horrors that awaited them during that long and torturous year. The changes began with merely a shift in atmosphere, a cold graveness that pervaded the castle and a new, mandatory class in Muggle Studies. Now, as the sixth and seventh years begin a new year, they must prepare not only to pass their NEWTs, but to curse disobedient first years in Defense Against the Dark Arts, glorify the superiority of wizardkind in Muggle Studies, be punished for dissent written in their private letters, and, most importantly, to stand up and fight against a new, Death Eater-controlled administration.
