Digression (Taemin/Minho); Rhetoricality (Jonghyun/Onew); X Marks the Spot (Jonghyun/Key)
The following have been written as a response to this mini fic writing game Raphael schmecken and I had a day or two back. I've only just gotten back to writing for SHINee, so these might now be that good. Sorry. ^^;
Digression
Taemin/Minho; 211 words; PG. Minho is not a man of self-control. +
After SHINee, Taemin has decided to stay with SM to train talents. Paying forward, Taemin calls it. Jonghyun just calls it being 'sentimental'. Kibum goes back to the Daegu, builds a school there. Jinki goes to Africa in his quest for the most colorful bird, something more colorful than peacocks. And Jonghyun, he hasn't decided on where to go yet, but he's sure not going back to school.
Minho decides to go to Paris. It's not anything resolute: if Taemin had stopped him, or anyone, for that matter, he wouldn't have gone away.
But no one did.
"I need some time away from the spotlight," he reasons out when Jonghyun calls him one day. Jonghyun grumbles something about running away and leaving people behind. Minho knows he won't hear the end of it, so he puts down the phone even before Jonghyun can say 'Come back, Choi, you coward!' then lifts it once he's sure Jonghyun wouldn't be calling in a while. From the back of his mind, he traces numbers on the phone, dialing a number from memory. From the other end of the line, a young, familiar voice greets him.
"Yeoboseyo?"
Then he drops the phone.
He gets the first flight out of Paris and back to Korea.
Rhetoricality
Jonghyun/Onew; 165 words; PG. Jinki loves summers. And sweet cakes, too, of course. +
Jinki is the type who loves summers. He's the type who'd pull you out of your bed and into the garden, run around in circles until he drops silly on the grass. There would be giggling and laughing and hot tea after that. And, of course, sweet cakes.
Halfway through their little baking disaster, Jonghyun feels for the wall and his feet. Jinki traps him, arms on either side of his body. Jonghyun's small like this, when he's framed by Jinki's arms and Jinki's smiling at him silly. "Are you crazy?" Jonghyun asks boldly. It's one thing he's never asked because he and Jinki are all games, and Jinki's never answered any of Jonghyun's questions, save for 'Does it hurt' with a 'Yes'. The crinkle of Jinki's nose and the small smile tugging at the corner of Jinki's lips speaks volumes, even more when Jinki presses his lips lightly on Jonghyun's for a quick kiss. When Jinki pulls away, Jonghyun doesn't ask.
They could be.
X Marks the Spot
Jonghyun/Key; 138 words. G. Kibum is territorial by nature. +
Kibum is the kid who invaded Jonghyun's precious sand pit when he was five. Kibum was the one who knocked down the sand castle he had so lovingly made. "You could always make one again, you know," Kibum quips, not admitting he's at fault. Jonghyun just frowns.
Kibum builds a sand castle for Jonghyun the next day.
"I hope you're happy now." The tone of Kibum's voice is almost apologetic, the cross between a smile and a frown on his lips almost cute. Jonghyun hides his grin with the back of his hand, but the laughter spills from his lips and he soon finds Kibum with his hands on his hips. "Are you laughing at me?" Jonghyun starts running away, but then Kibum catches him, tackles him to the ground.
And they leave heart prints on the sand.
