IT was never wise to wonder alone, especially given what was going on, but Mushu couldn't stand it any longer. The constant sound in his ears was making him almost miss the constant bickering of the ghosts in the temple. His hearing so effected, he was stumbling a little as he scurried over buildings and walls. After falling for the tenth time he decided to shoulder his pride and just run along the ground.

Of course, with the darkness and his own distraction it was hard to see where he was going. Even if it was crashing into the leg of someone in a hurry.

"Ow! Hey! Watch where I'm goin'!"

"Nnh!" He recoiled when the crash happened, his eyebrows twitching. He was especially paranoid when he didn't have power, as if all his enemies would come rushing at him all at once.

"You! ... What the Hell are you." He narrowed his eyes, not recognizing the creature.

Xerxes, however, got over his fear enough to slither down and float in front of Mushu's face. He took a few long sniffs and made a disgusted face. "Eeeugh."

The eel threw him off more then the guy yelling at him. He leaned away from Xerxes before swipping a claw at him, "Hey man, outta my space." The dragon glanced up at Mozenrath. The man just screamed creepy, from his turban to the 'off to conquer the world' boots.

"I'm a dragon, who are you?"

Xerxes hissed at the swiping claw, lunging forward with his sharp teeth. But he didn't clamp them down on Mushu, it was just a warning. Then the grumpy little eel floated back around Mozenrath's shoulders, staring down at the dragon from high up with a hateful little sneer. "Dragon smelly!"

"Mozenrath. What's it to you? Don't tell me you're a student here. It seems they'll let just anyone in."

Rules, Shmules.

Hades wouldn't let anything happen to his amazing little henchgirl, so she decided taking a step outside would be acceptable.
It was stuffy in the dorm building. And there was nothing to do. Nothing. And while she was generally approachable, she wasn't exactly sociable.

She's sitting close to the building, on a bench, for a quick retreat, but far out enough to be in sight.
Meg could've heard Moze from a mile away with how loud he'd been, so she peered up from under the mess of hair she'd been arranging.

"And what's your problem?"

He rose his jaw when he saw Meg, but instead of smirking at her like he normally would have that pout on his lips was firmly set. "None of your concern!" Oh, a snap even. Short tempered and sullen, Mozenrath without his power was a very miserable boy.

Without his power Meg felt... bland. He couldn't feel her aura or see the influences of death's touch on her. She was suddenly as worthless as all the rest. "Why do you care anyway?"

"Jeez louise. Jump down my throat why don't you."
She finished pulling her hair up, and she gave him a look that she'd normally give someone she thought didn't deserve her time of day.

And if he was going to act like this, she wouldn't give it to him.

"Well, if it's none of my concern-" she mimicked. "-Then I guess I don't care all that much."

He gritted his teeth as he stared hard at her. Every instinct in his body raged at him to strangle the very life straight out of her. It was only a few long steps before he was directly in front of her, that fearsome skeleton hand rising from it's hiding spot in his cape to clamp around her delicate neck.

When he squeezed it was anything but gentle. Hard enough to leave very wicked-looking marks on her pale skin and cut off her flow of air.

"Do not taunt me." He hissed hatefully, those dark eyes full of anger and... humiliation? She had embarrassed the Lord, and he was insecure enough to be unable to take it.

WELL THIS LOOKS LIKE A GOOD TIME TO GET HIM BACK FOR HIS BULLSHIT. bffsonotherside August 21 2010, 03:59:05 UTC
Facilier shouldn't be outside. He just felt so exposed without his shadow, especially now when he could send him forward as a lookout, darting around corners and checking spaces that could conceal other shadows, ones he couldn't persuade. But it was a bit of a walk between his office and the Botanical Gardens (he needed ingredients for... for later, anyway), and he wasn't about to Shadowstep again anytime soon. His jacket was drawn tight around him against the cold, and he kept his shoulders hunched as he crossed the lawn.

Between the darkness, his posture, and the unbearable buzzing in his ears, he nearly ran headlong into Mozenrath. While his first instinct was to growl an insincere apology (he's in no mood to be dawdling outside), as soon as he realized who he'd almost stumbled into, he straightened up and raised his eyebrows.

"Now what might you be doing outside at a time like this? Not wise for little students to wander around without protection, y'know."

He veered backwards as if Facilier was made of flame. To run into anyone but him would have been preferable. He was the type of man that he only wanted to see when he was at full power, and a ace up his sleeve. Xerxes hissed and bared his teeth at the Doctor threateningly, and Mozenrath gritted his own teeth.

"Don't be stupid. Of course I have protection. I can handle these creatures unlike some people I know."

Pointed barb is pointed.

"You know, you're right, I don' give you enough credit. You handled yourself extraordinarily during our last encounter. I never did thank you for throwing me straight at them."

Facilier was visibly aggravated by the mere memory, and shadow or no, he wasn't going to let the matter drop. Not without evening the score. Now was hardly the ideal moment though: outside in the thick of the mist itself, Strangelings clawing at the gates... no. Another time.

"I must give credit where credit is due as well. It was such a brilliant move of yours to use me as a goddamn shield."

In all fairness if this was a battle of 'you started it' Mozenrath might have some good points on his side. But when it comes to two evil bastards fairness never did really matter.

If only Faci could read minds... Then he would know that Mozenrath was thinking very similar thoughts. Except he wasn't thinking 'another time'. He was thinking of how well his muscles would stand up for the necessary action.
