a couple of days ago lorihollet and i went to this fancy resturaunt, 11 madison park, that i'm supposed to be appreticing at over the summer. since my chef at school assigned us a really harsh assignment to try similar desserts at different resturaunts, i wanted to go there and try thier famous choc souffle for 2.
so we got all dressed up and went there for souffle and drinks, and in her usual stlye lori started chatting up the waiter, eventually it came out that i was hoping to work there. when he came back the waiter told me that the pastry sous-chef was around and if i wanted to met her and see the kitchen i was welcome to. i felt totally honored. the sous chef was really nice and sent us out an amazing extra dessert on the house. a white chocolate passion fruit tart with dark choc sorbet.it was fucking amazing. and i don't usually care for white chocolate, but shit, it was good. the souffle that we order was also perfect, and probaly big enough to feed four people. it was served with chocolate sauce and three different ice creams, plus the best little madelines i've ever had.
well, it was just amazing, the waiter brought me an extra glass of wine on the house, and the check came with the tastiest little selection of petit fours, which despite being in sugarshock, we ate. i felt like i was being treated like a little king, not some guy who's going to be working for free for them.
needless to sa, lori and i felt like we needed to puke afterwards, but in the best way possible.
if only rae coulda been there.
