its kind of sad

I went over to my grandma's house today for a bbq she was throwing - it was great i go to see all my cousins and close family. Things like that are always nice because my grandmothers loves to have everyone over but lately she's just been slowing down so much. She just seems to be getting so weak. I understand that old age takes a toll on people but with her its different. I'm talking about a woman who starved in Portugal as a kid during World War 2, was a slave for a portion of her life because her family had to sell her so they can afford to raise the rest of their children and then finally came to this country to work in sweatshops. Its all good now because she has a house in Fl and has a great family but her body is literally falling apart because of her past. She gets epideral shots in her lower back because it's so painful for her to walk and she even passed out when we were at a restaurant a few months ago. It's just sad.

While at her house today - I realized that she was missing for awhile. (bc the rest of us were in her backyard). I came inside and she said she wasn't going to go outside because it hurts her to go up and down the stairs into the backyard. thats is just so sad. I mean I am thankful that she doesn't have alzheimers or anything but I know shes in alot of pain. She has finally gotten to the point in life where she has enough money to relax - but now its almost impossible for her. I just wish my grandfather was still alive to help her out. she wont move to her house in fl because she doesnt drive and hs no one there to take care of her. If i go to UF maybe I can get her to move to her hous eand ill take her shopping on the weekends. For now - all i can hope for is for her medication to control her pain.

I dont know I found myself being real bothered by this and had to get it off my chest. This is the main reason why I have to go back to school and get a great job. I need to make sure I will have the funds to take care of my parents when the time comes.
