Just watched The Happiness of the Katakuris (Katakuri-ke no kôfuku)on DVD. It's like a weird...ok...Japanese version of The Sound of Music but with zombies and stopmotion clay animation!! Very, very funny! Somewhat lighter than the other Takashi Miike film I've seen -Audition (Ôdishon)
Having a bit of a Japanese/Korean film fest as of late. Recently having watched Oldboy, Tetsuo (Which is as freaky as fuck!), The Eye and The Ring Trilogy to name but a few. Currently awaiting viewing are The Grudge (Ju-On -the original version) and Sympathy for Mr Vengance (or something like that!). Also want to try and get hold of the original Ring sequel "Spiral," on DVD. The sequel which came out straight after Ring without the lead actress and bombed big time. Ok so its probably crap but I want it for completism.
