(no subject)
So I had a kitten tragedy today....
I came home around 5pm and Pan was yelling at me like she normally does. Yesterday, she climbed up my screen door all the way to the top screaming about something. Later I found out she had to do a massive number 2 which ended up in one of my potted plants on the porch. Not fun. Spider plants don't like cat poop.
On to the kitty tragedy : [ (you can tell I'm trying to avoid talking about it)
The gray kitten passed away, probably from our lovely Florida heat. I was super upset when I found her. The three other kittens were acting very sluggish and panting. So I freaked out and bring them inside in the bathroom in their cat carrier. I put a new towel in the carrier and took out each kitten one at a time (still got gloves on) to examine them and make sure they were alright. They brightened up after I brought them inside and started yelling at me, a sure sign they were feeling better. I'm honestly not sure if the gray kitten died from heat since that kitten and the black one were in bad shape when I had found them in the woods the other day. I'm trying not to blame myself for having them on the porch. It was cool and shady out there. The cat carrier didn't seem that warm. I don't know, I still feel terrible about it. I buried the gray kitten out back and put a cement slab over the grave. The racoons, possums, and whatever else lives in the woods around here are huge. Not to mention the millions of rednecks and their dogs. I'd rather they didn't dig up my kitten. : [
So Pan and Co. are inside now. I already have Stinky in the house (a black cat I took in months ago because she was blind in one eye and dying from really bad worms, etc). She's named Stinky because that's her favorite thing to do. Pan and Stinky get along pretty well since they are probably sisters. No one fixes their cats around here and that means the neighborhood is full of kitties. I can't complain. I've be-friended all the neighbors cats and the stray cats. I glare at the neighbors when I see them and have yet to talk to any of them. Crazy cat lady here I come.
