Milly Thompsondesu!

So, I'm getting close to broke and I'm not happy about it. I need a job. A new one that is, because techincally I should have a job bringing in a few dollars here and there, but you all know the story behind that....

Cheap Thrills blues weekend - bleh. Once again, being a born tourist and being in great company saved that dance weekend. I disliked much of the music (1920s plodding "blues"), but I got to see a bunch of people I'd met before at other exchanges and I did get a few fun dances in with George and Kevin and another guy I keep forgetting his name. I'm sure people thought I was only dancing with Asians or something, but NO, I swear to God they were just really good dancers I'd met at other events! I missed most of the dirty boys male-on-male blues dancing performance because the MC was STUPID and demanded that the crowd STAND UP - ask 100+ to stand up and crowd about in a circle - yeah. Now, add on to the fact that many of us ARE NOT 6'2" and were forced to be in the back of the crowd. I was NOT happy with the sheer stupidity of the DJ. I'm sure otherwise in life he's a very intelligent person, but that was not one of his shining moments. I only caught the end of the performance because someone was nice enough to let me in front of him, and I dragged another short girl who'd gotten put in the back of the crowd, up with me. So instead of 5 minutes of hotness, I got 25 seconds of it. Boy, were we PISSED.

Doing balboa at City Museum kinda made up for the weekend though.

So LAST weekend, we went to Midwest Lindyfest and thank god I went, because it was so much better than Cheap Thrills. I was a little disappointed in the "rockstars" attitude problems (except for Andy, cause he was nice AND cute) and social dancing skills, but I made a bunch of new aquaintances, met some very nice people and got a lot of dancing in. The music was infinitely better, with a variety of speeds and genres (no hizzop lindy tho *sad*). The second night was kinda hard to get many dances in, but getting lots of balboa in the third night was totally worth it. Thank god for small dance spaces. *grin* And I felt like I danced the best the third night, while the first and second I just didn't feel like I was doing as well as I could.

We also hit the Mall of America, and cleaned out Forever 21 and Hot Topic - I got a cute red polkdot bolero, an apple t-shirt, a black 50's style dress (MOA), a penguin patch for my plain pink sweater (it really needed something that was ME), and a 40's style black and pink dress (Hot Topic).

Which means of course, that I am cleaning out my closet for stuff to sell. *sigh* I wish that refund would hurry up and get here.

I'm rather torn between everyone this weekend. Mariah wants to do stuff Friday and Saturday, but Alix's birthday party is Friday, Saturday is the TKD tourney that I have to help with (to make up for absentances in class), and I know Ben will want Sunday. But I'm kinda ticked off at him anyhow for not making much of any sort of effort to hang out lately, or really talk to me, so I'm kinda feeling like I'd rather have that day to myself.

I got my comic books today, and man, were they GOOD. Christ, I love Fables. I just hate that I have to wait 4 weeks between each issue. Its torture. *sigh*
