Week Number One is Done
Granted, it was only two conference days and two class days. But it was so damn for most of the time that by the time I got home I felt like I had to wring myself out and take an hour to recover. Thank goodness for air conditioning at home.
Yesterday, THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL, I gave one of my 8th graders a partial lunch detention for Tuesday with me. I'm actually just going to give her a warning since it is her first one. She and one or two other kids just can't control their behaviors. I just can't let these kids make me lose control of the class before we barely begin the school year. I refuse to be throwing kids out and writing referrals all year. There HAS to be some way to get them to behave. Ugh.
