Well, ideally we'd get a BNF-y person to make a party post ??? Erm. I'm so clueless. I could definitely come up with some questions or prompts, though. Like are the Lords of Kobol and the Cylon god the same divine force, given what the Oracle told Three down on New Caprica, about both of them speaking through her? Is HeadSix really an angel from god, and if so, WTF is that god's agenda besides torturing Gaiuses? Our earlier question about Lee and how he rationalized the Tomb of Athena experience...also apply that to Adama: how much does he buy into the scrolls of Pythia right now? Does he trust Laura's visions at all? See how easily I blather! And not a single question about Kara, my primary obsession. ;) And that's not even getting into Greek/Roman mythology stuff.

Muh! Must have!

Hey, fic progress report for ya: I've just been slaving away at that for the last two hours, and it's coming along swimmingly. My main concern now is that it's getting too long! Ohwell, it's always easier to shorten later. Could post a longer version on my journal anyhow, too. *feels very proud of newbie productivity*
BNF=Big Name Fan (apologies if you either already know this and I'm assuming ignorance, or didn't know this and I was previously assuming knowledge)
Your questions are awesome! How about I start a list, email it to you to add to, and then I post them for discussion? Hopefully it'll get pimped/linked to on galactica_news and then other people will mosey on over...
Ohhh, you should be VERY proud of your productivity! That is very exciting! *twirls*
Hahah. No, I'm not. I guess a good example of one in BSG fandom would be wisteria_--she has a big f'list, she's well-known, she posts regularly and she's involved in things like galacticanews. But a word of warning: most people reject the title of 'Big Name Fan' because it's often used as an insult (BNFs get 'hated' on for being snobby/elitist/full of themselves, or for having 'minions'/fangirls). In metafandom (a comm that collects links to posts about fandom itself) you'll periodically find that the subject of 'BNF' status comes up as one of those contentious things. Some people maintain that the only true 'BNFs' are multi-fannish. Personally I'm friends with several people who people consider to be BNFs (in a positive way), and I'm not very status-minded--I chatter to people and if they chatter back in an interesting way then we're friends, regardless of whether they've been in fandom since year dot or yesterday. ;-)
galacticanews has several maintainers who search for recent posts of interest, and since several of them have me friended, chances are they'll pick up a post and/or we can just drop them a line and ask them to link to us. They're a friendly newsletter that way.
Oh, and I feel the need to make it 100 per cent clear that I think wisteria_ is awesome and is only a BNF in the most positive/objective sense of the word and I in no way mean the term as an insult (I don't actually use it as an insult with anyone... but because others do, it's contentious).
Oh, I don't think anyone would take what you said any other way, I know you are friends with her, too. And I agree, wisteria_ is all kinds of awesome, I love her fic so much. How could anyone resent so-called "BNFs" or whatever just for having a big friendslist? Well, some humans are strange, huh.
But thanks for some insight into the politics of fandom. (cowers) I'm still so timid to randomly friend people whom I admire. I mean, I just don't know how that works. I like to ask people first, and I'm kinda shy. Sigh.

Aww, you're so nice. And you're the first person whom I didn't already know beforehand to spontaneously friend me, and I feel so lucky! I obviously like chattering with you. :D A lot. You give me the warm fuzzies just like Baby Polar Bear Knut does.
How could anyone resent so-called "BNFs" or whatever just for having a big friendslist? Heh, well fannish politics are very strange things, and although it's by and large a very friendly world, I guess there is the same pettiness as in any community.
Don't worry--I still mostly ask people first if I can friend them. Though don't feel you have to--most people have a disclaimer or something in their userinfo stating how they feel about friending/defriending, so you can always check that. And sometimes I friend someone and then comment in a post saying 'I've friended you coz I like your recs' or something like that.
Yup, I'm super-glad we met! You and daybreak777 are my new shiny BSG f'list members! It's so fun meeting new friends--and we obviously click! ;-) And hazyshade_ too: I've admired her vids from afar for ages, and then she friended me and I am all squeeful and excited to be getting to know her better. Warm fuzzies all round indeed! Aww, Knut is so cute!
Oh, I don't know--Knut is a pretty strong card, that's for sure! (Especially as Kacey doesn't have quite as strong an effect on me--though she does overcome even my non-interest in children.)
Thanks for your email addy. I'll get on to planning mytho-religious party post now my essays are done.

But definitely if you think this is doable, I'll be happy to add to the list!
Who decides how it ends up on Galactica News? *flounders in even more ignorance*
