back in business

Well, I've been computerless for getting near a month.  But my baby is back from the hospital, and I'm making up for lost time.

In other general news about my life, as I seemed to have more than dropped off the face of the, well, universe.

Let's see, now that I've settled back into my dorm room, I've started working on several loverly projects.

I've got several knitting projects, mainly hats, at the moment.  And quite a few are fandom based.  w00t!  My very first knit hat, finished about a month ago, has been dubbed my Yoda hat for rather obvious reasons once you see it.  I also have a plain school colors one that's almost finished but my real projects, I've yet to begin.  I plan on making Jayne's amusing little hat from Firefly.  The really obnoxious red adn orange one his mum made?  Yeah.  It's gonna be ridiculous.  I also need to learn how to knit Intarsia so I can knit an Aang hat for Em.  And myself for that matter.

Also, in SCA news, I've got all my fabric for THREE Tudor/Elizabethan dresses.  I'm making the earlier Tudor dress in gold and red.  Then I'm making a later kirtle and coat in blue and green.  It's even going to have puffed and paned sleeves!  Finally, I'm making yet another dress in blue with red detachable sleeves (with slashing!).  Can you tell there was a fabric sale over the break?  Yeah, I think it's kinda obvious.  Though, I am still looking for gargantuan tassels as a slightly lower classed alternative to a pomander as a weight on my belt, as it's gonna be a while til I can find one of those.

Also, I tried my hand at blackwork for the first time on an Elizabethan coif.  It's incredibly wobbly and quite often forgoes any sense of symmetry, but I like it anyways.  Now that the embroidery's done, i'm working on finishing the rest of hte sewing for it.  All hand sewn, mainly because I'm too lazy to get out the sewing machine.

Finally, I have the flu and appear to be in a constant state of sneezing.  Gorram unusually cold weather.  And with Mardi Gras being next weekend and everything!  Everything better clear up by then.

Well, llove y llamas y llemurs!
