Frustration
I am frustrated. I was attempting to write my nun report without sounding like an overzealous feminazi bitch, but it doesn't seem to be working.
This is what is happening- I put down a point and can only explain it with something about the patriarchal society at the time.
Example - According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, nuns were the first members of a monastic order to “embrace the religious state for its own sake.” This may have occurred as a result of a society that did not allow women to handle administrative matters or “ecclesiastical work proper to men.”
Example 2 - If this is true then cloistering would have become extremely important due to the concept “manifestation of consciousness.” This concept includes everything that becomes a part of a nun’s soul.
(That looks innocent, right? WRONG!!!)
I have to now add something about men being the only ones that women could confess to and how this increases the female monastic's dependency on males since they must do confession.
In other words, as blatantly fair as I am attempting to being, I just don't think that this is going to work as sounding as entirely subjective as I would like it to.
