She still hasn't talked to you much? I never knew she could be that nasty.. I mean I can only judge from your point of view. I hope I knew what she is thinking and I hope I can help her. I'm sorry you had to go through all that, Jezz. But like the psychologist said, you're going through one of the moments where you're learning how to be a parent. And just because your parents haven't exactly been the best ones, doesn't mean you won't be a great parent. I think, once you finally have your own family, you will strive to be the best parent for your kids. As long as you stay close to God, keep the family close with God's love, you'll be fine. That fear is normal, I guess. But it doesn't mean you will become your parents. You're strong, and you're empowered by God's love. You have faith. And although your parents may not show a lot of love, I am sure deep down, they want to? But pride gets in the way, you know? And selfishness. And perhaps fear of vulnerability. It could be anything, but God is always there for you, you are never alone. God is always with you, loving you. Yesterday in church, I was crying so much because for some reason, it felt like someone was whispering to my ear, "just let it go..I am here now." Remembering it bbrings tears to my eyes again hahahahah. But yeah. God permits these trials, sufferings, these tests so we can fully unleash our potential. What God wants us to be. How he wants us to be. You have written this post because of your love for your mother that it hurts you greatly when she doesn't treat you the way you should be treated as her son. It will pass, hopefully. Just keep praying, and God will not leave your side. :)
