Forty years ago I was sprawled on the floor as close to the television set as I possibly could get in my parent's small duplex they rented to see the landing and EVA of Apollo XI.  Back then we didn't have a remote control, so I was in charge of flipping back and forth from CBS to NBC to see the coverage.

Will probably be off line most of the weekend.  We're going to be busy, staying close to home, and doing things that won't take a whole lot of money, and see family.

So, Dave accidently stepped on Spike's leg Thursday morning.  I got home Thursday evening from the Great Trip North, and notice that said cat is limping.  Me: "Why?"  Him:  "Accidently stepped on him.  He stopped, I didn't."  Much debate about taking him to vet.  Fast forward to Sunday.  Spike is doing the three-legged hop.  Me:  "Call the vet, I' ( Read more... )

Yesterday after visiting with Dave's cousin in Upland, we took the long drive home.  We stopped at Harris Ranch for dinner, then back on the road again.  That may have been a mistake, because it turned out the connector highway from I-5 to Route 101 was closed due to a head on collision.  We painfully got past most of the detour route and ( Read more... )
