OMG you guys. It hit 39.4 degrees during my lunch hour. With a "feels like" temp (taking other weatherish factors into account) of 46. I have no energy to work that out in American-speak, but it's HOT. Hotter than...Sylar fucking Lex Luthor in a back room at Babylon. *nods* Just walking up the hill to the Fortress nearly killed me.
The air-con here at work is not coping at all, but it's better than the no air-con waiting for me back at the Fortress. My computer made scary sounds when I turned it on at lunch, so I've given it a reprieve until it cools a little, poor thing. The coolest room happens to be the bathroom so I've taken to throwing a few cushions into the bathtub and studying in there. Heh. I'm all Kyle XY.
Anyway, weekend of the usual dentist appointments (got my x-rays back and, yep, looks like all 4 wisdom teeth have to go) and a little shopping (the Seasons expansion pack for Sims 2 is fun!) Went to a cent sale and didn't win as much as usual - just a beach towel and some homemade lamingtons. Totally not worth going with only one side of my mouth working (stupid dentist). And I think I bowled well enough to qualify for the no taps tournament next month. In B Division, but still. Basically, it's your usual game except if you bowl a 7, 8 or 9, it's counted as a strike. It's harder than you think, though. One slip-up and you're pretty much out of contention.
Oh, and my daddy got a new computer and as he's away working, I thought it my daughterly duty to set it up and, well, I *had* to play around on it just to make sure it worked. *g* I was going to rant here about how the business edition of Vista doesn't have games but I've just looked it up and they're still apparently there, I just have to unlock them. Crisis over. Vista still confuses me, though, and seems it seems to take twice as many clicks to get anywhere. It seems designed for people who can't read or something. I like to work with menus and lots of text but that must be terribly oldschool these days. I guess I'll get used to it eventually but I don't remember having these problems when any other windows system arrived.
bowling,
weekend,
