(sort of)
Professor Ian Frazer (Australian of the Year - who has developed a vaccine to prevent cervical cancer) talks about his inpsiration. PETA DONALD: You quoted the singer Ben Lee and the song, Catch My Disease, what did you mean by that?
IAN FRAZER: I want people to be infected by the same process of doing good for others as I feel I'm infected by.
In the song he refers to "I like it that way". And that's what I like, I like this idea of doing good for other people. And if people can be encouraged to catch that disease in doing good for other people, I'll be really pleased.
KAREN PERCY: The Australian of the Year for 2006, Professor Ian Frazer, speaking to Peta Donald.
The affect this little album is having on the world continues to astound me. And I'm following the example...not by curing cancer, just by spreading my own disease in tiny ways and hoping it infects everyone it touches. So if you happen to find yourself in a cloud of glittery dorkitude soon, blame Ben Lee. *g*
