Loved:
+ Fred and George. Dang, they grew up pretty. I especially loved them teasing Ron about his mancrush on Krum - that was cute. And the wrestling after the age spell went wrong. Can't wait to see them in the next one.
+ Neville. I think reading the books has made me fall for him more, but this movie just kinda proved it. I loved how they had Neville responsible for the gillyweed instead of Dobby because frankly, it made more sense and was an improvement...but then again, I'm not a house elf fan. And his dancing in his pyjamas! So cute! And getting in late from the dance with his shoes around his shoulders! And the crying over the crucius curse on the spider! I love Neville. He's gonna be the character who raises those big mama bear instincts in me. You hear me, JK? Anything happens to that boy and we're gonna have words.
+ Cedric. *kicks stuff* At least I knew enough to try and hold myself back from loving him this time but he was so *pretty* and the moment he stuck out a hand and helped Harry up after the portkey, I knew I was in trouble. Heh. And he was so *gay* and privateschoolish and the bath clue! Eeee! It just screamed "go get naked in the prefect's bathroom, Harry. I'll see you in there!" But then...yeah. Not gonna get over that anytime soon. Especially, the way his head clunked onto the ground when Harry brought him back, those pretty eyes so vacant, and Harry was lying on top of him, sobbing and...really good scene, but it broke me all over again. But I didn't cry as much as the tough guy in front of us (seriously, even with little whining noises), and my sister was too busy laughing at *him* so she didn't get too upset at all.
+ Harry/Ron. Loved their little spat so much. Loved their make-up even more. Quite possibly the sweetest HP moment ever.
+ Tennant! Little role, big impact. Boy, he does creepy well. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours." *dies* I was also impressed with the guy who played Moody and how whenever the polyjuice potion was wearing off, he seemed to take on Tennant-ish characteristics. I mean, the tongue thing was a little too obvious (but still, a *tongue* thing. *g*) but there were other little raises of an eyebrow or mouth movements that gave me Tennanty thoughts and I thought that was very well done.
+ Krum. Even if he didn't misprounce Hermione's name, he was still adorable with his crush. And Hermione telling Harry that Krum was more of a physical person! Ha! Cute.
+ The Ball. Jarvis Cocker was the band singer! Must check if the rest of the band were Pulp members.
+ Hogwarts. It seemed much more boarding-school-ish this time, and I enjoyed that.
+ The ferret! Ah, Malfoy. So cute when you lose all your dignity.
Didn't love:
- The lack of Weasleys. I wanted to meet the older brothers, dammit. And we needed Percy. And I missed Mrs Weasley a lot.
- No Privet Drive scene. This wouldn't have worried me had I not read the next book and found out how important they are.
- You-know-who. Not that Ralph Fiennes wasn't fantastic and the scenes weren't well done, but he scared me too much with the noseless thing and therefore I can't love. *shudders*
Anyway, I'm kinda glad I read the book beforehand now, because I had to explain a whole bunch of things to my sister afterwards and I wonder if I would have had the same questions if I'd stuck to my resolve. *shrug* Her main problem with the movie was that Harry didn't go to Draco and tell him about Lucius being a Death Eater at the end. She's such a shipper and she just doesn't know it. *snickers* I could see her thinking up the scene in her head as she spoke. Makes me kinda proud.
Also, I loved the Narnia trailer. Aslan had be all teary and fangirly before the feature movie even started. And unfortunately, we got another two Mr Tumnus toys in our Happy Meals so if anyone wants one to blow, let me know. *g* I saw kids with, I think, Peter, but the guy behind the counter said they didn't have any other toys left. We think he was lying. Bastard.
