Again.
But this time with a book, not a television character, so nyah. *g*
OMG, I Have a Bed Made of Buttermilk Pancakes by Jaclyn Moriarty, at only 50 pages in, is so entertaining and squee-worthy that I've decided it's one of those books I'm going to read slowly. Out loud. And giggle and squirm and re-read paragraphs over and over again. I haven't really done this to such an extent since...probably the fourth time I read Pride and Prejudice in my teens.
I can't really review it yet given that I've only started reading but there's a pretty good, brief one
HERE for now. I'll just say that I love Cath, the schoolteacher, because her thought processes are freakily like my own and it makes me laugh (and sometimes cringe). And I love Fancy because she writes erotic fiction (doesn't take much for me to get attached, obviously) and her daughter, Cassie, who yells out words like "Vagina!" or "Scrotum!" repeatedly in some bizarre Tourettes/OCD thing which probably means more than I know at this point. And Listen because of her name. Listen Taylor. I love that name and have no idea why. Hee! Still getting to know Marbie, the other main character.
Anyway, I've passed this book in the bookstore for a month or so, sometimes picking it up and then deciding that it was too expensive and I already had a pile of books to finish as it was...but then on Saturday, it was on sale. Then I was going to leave it in its bookstore paper bag until the weekend (while finishing *other* books by the bed) but...kinda picked it up last night for a look. Dude.
I want to quote, but I can't find where to start and end so just read, 'kay? It's quirky and fun and probably not for everyone but if you wanna take a rec from somebody who hasn't even finished *reading* it yet, go right ahead. *g*
(I have to do a 50 Books Challenge Update on the weekend, but had to squee in the meantime.)
