Though I continually check in on you all to get the skinny, it's been almost a year since I posted. Not much has changed. I'm still in school; I'm still living with Cord; I'm still stressing about finding a job on the other side. And yet [pause for existential moment] I do believe just about everything has changed. That's not sad, that just is. But one of those changes is that for the second semester of my teaching assistantship I'm holding down the fort in the english composition computer lab. This means enforced time in front of the computer when I can't really muster anything more engrossing than facebook statuses before a student has a question. And that means I will be making a concerted effort to update this journal more regularly.
Other than my hours in the lab, I am on my own trying to develop my thesis and reading for a Dickens seminar I'm just taking for fun. This means many hours in my pajamas, and a strange combination of steadily working and steadily napping sometimes occurs since the only way to stay warm in the house is to stay in bed. However, with luck, I should be able to graduate this summer. And maybe I'll even have a job then. Here's hoping.
