Went to see the Green Hornet movie with Margery yesterday. LOVED. IT. It was hilarious and fun. There's tons of destruction - the natural result of two irresponsible superheroes' attempts at fighting crime from the inside.
The mixed reviews are bumming me out, though. I really want this to do well, so I can get a sequel! Movie critics wouldn't know a fun movie if it smacked them in the face.
I don't get what people why critics thought it was so terrible. It was fun. Stuff blew up. It didn't take itself way too seriously, like most movies do.
I really don't like going to sad or serious movies, tbh. I prefer my books angsty and my movies energetic. This one kept a smile on my face the whole way through, which I consider a success. (Especially as I'm not a very smiley person IRL.)
One thing I particularly enjoyed was the dialogue. It wasn't fancy and eloquent, but more of a reflection of how people actually talk - swearing a lot and using stupid insults.
If no fandom pops up I'll be disappointed.
(also, I decided to look up Jay Chou (Kato's actor) on youtube, since he's such a huge pop star in Asia. I am now obsessed with Chinese hip hop.)
