deep down inside we want to believe they still do

I... am so obsessed with my Visual Bookshelf on Facebook that it's actually quite ridiculous.

I'm up to 902 books, 889 already read, I think. The others are on my Reading Now and Want to Read lists.

But I seriously spent several hours today trying to think of books I read when I was younger. I added, like, seventy-five books to my list because of this. It's all quite random, really...

But it made me remember all of the books I loved like crazy when I was little, and never think about now... holy crap... That just made me remember one, but I can't think of the title! CRAP! Oh well. I own the book, I'll run across it someday....
Anyway, I used to love all these books. Like the Little House series and myriad spinoffs (including the hard-to-find ones by T.L. Tedrow), Caddie Woodlawn, the Misty of Chincoteague books, and a whole bunch of Newbery Award/Honors books (like The Wheel on the School) that I had never realized were written so long ago!

So, yeah. A little trip down Memory Lane's literary side-street.

Gah. Half the people on the Visual Bookshelf leaderboard are CHEATERS! They add thousands of books to their Want to Read list, so it looks like they've read more than they have! Granted, they've all read a crapload of books, but still!!!

Also, the people need to fix the application so your standing changes as you add books.... I should no longer be #383, people!!!

facebook, books
