Posting from New Orleans.
Earlier today I went on a tour of Loyola University. Besides my parents and me, there was another student and her father touring with us. We all introduced ourselves: they were Chris and Catlin Buckley from D.C. They were both very naturally suave and money suave so I figured the man must be some kind of politician or lobbyist. My mom and dad and Buckley had a nice little bout of Who Can Drop the Most New Orleans Name-dropable Locales (while staying pertinent to the larger conversation (this, I think, is the real challenge)). I think C.B. admitted defeat when my dad was able to tell C.B. what to order (both main course and appetizer) at what I think was Buckley's prize, kill 'em all restaurant-drop and where he and his daughter would be dining later.
Anyway, an hour or so ago, I remembered them and decided to look up 'Chris Buckley'. Turns out the Chris Buckley I met is a conservative writer and satirist, author of Thank You for Smoking and other books. He wrote speeches for George Bush the Elder when he was vice-president.
I thought that was exciting. (?)
New Orleans is great. It's a shame my grandmother doesn't live here anymore, it was always nice staying with her.
