Last week I went to Arapiles for a few days with Nick P for some climbing. We left tuesday afternoon and arrived to a pretty empty camp site, only about 3 other tents. It was freezing cold at night and we had a fire going after the first night. On wednesday we did a long 95m slab multipitch called Panzer, it was a grade 12 and it took the whole day pretty much. We had a look at the kitten wall at the top then walked down. We had chicken soup for dinner and then a cooked apple desert and went to bed early. The next day we went up a couple of grades and did mantle an 87m 14 slab. This time we had got up early and finished early so we had time to go to castle crag and do a short 17 called swinging (as seen in photo). I then lead my first climb a grade 2 at declaration crag (second photo). On friday we did the first half of libreto at the organ pipes and then C.S Concerto. In the afternoon we climbed a 50 meter bridging pitch called Kestral which was grade 13, it went for ages. Friday night Nick W, Derek and Isabel turned up for the weekend. On Saturday I set up a top rope on a grade 22 climb in the hellspite area called straw dogs. It was bloody hard and I could only get 3/4 of the way up it after many attempts.
