This is a bit of a weird film. It's a rather silly romcom about Jonathan (Andrew McCarthy) who falls in love with a department store mannequin, Emmy (Kim Cattrall). Only she isn't really a mannequin. She's an ancient Egyptian princess who was saved from a forced marriage by the Gods.
Yes, that really is the backstory.
Jonathan gets a job at the failing department store and becomes the window designer. With Emmy's help, he creates amazing, eye-catching windows and business is booming. But the people who were sabotaging the store so it could be bought out for a pittance aren't going to be foiled by some neurotic window designer. Watch out Jonathan and Emmy!
The plot is pretty well bonkers but the cast are adorable. Besides Andrew McCarthy and Kim Cattrall, there's Estelle Getty as the store owner, Meshach Taylor as Jonathan's flamboyant coworker, James Spader as a backstabbing creep, and GW Bailey as the unstable security guard who knows there's something weird about that mannequin.
