The following sentence was actually written by a professional journalist. Spotted in an AP article about the Mother's Day shooting in New Orleans.

"Three gunshot victims remained in critical condition Monday, though their wounds didn't appear to be life-threatening."

Sigh.

In addition to outright pseudoscience, I frequently come across examples of science writing that's so horrible it makes me cringe. For example, there are articles where the writers don't even seem to understand the meaning of basic scientific terms.
