Rose is, first and foremost, adventurous. She loves to explore, to meet new people, visit new worlds, and experience new culture. She's brave, and never afraid to jump in and help someone who needs helping. She's outspoken, and isn't afraid to let her opinion be known. She has a strong sense of morality and justice, and she's willing to cause a bit of friction, if it helps the situation. Growing up on an estate, lower middle class, to a single mother has definitely rounded her very well in that aspect. She's very grounded and down to earth, and she knows which battles to pick and how to fight them.
At the same time, though, she's a very optimistic, cheerful person. She's quirky, up-beat, and has a fun and sometimes inappropriate sense of humor. She can laugh at the worst of times, and often tries to ease tension or lighten the mood with flat, unimpressive jokes.
Rose is compassionate. One of the things that makes her most admirable in the show is her ability to empathize with nearly every being she comes across- especially in the episode 'Dalek', in which she manages to befriend one of the most emotionless, hate-inducing races known to the universe. She sympathizes with the creature to the extent that she stands up for it against the Doctor, showing off her moralistic nature and her refusal to let herself be pushed around.
She can be temperamental, and tends to think with her heart more so than her head. It got her into a bit of trouble in secondary school, when she dropped out at the insistence of her then lover Jimmy Stone. This decision really cost her, not only monetarily, but in the form of formal education. Although she is clever and quick to learn, she missed out on a lot of opportunities that might've come with the acquisition of her A-Levels. As such, her intelligence comes more from intuition and experience than actual education. Later in life, though, she did devote a lot of her time to more disciplined learning.
Her lower class history and lack of education unfortunately lead to a bit of inherent insecurity, for which she has been known to overcompensate. It often manifests in the form of jealousy or possessiveness. Her over-all friendly nature, though, eventually does allow her to get passed this. The best example of this is in the form of Sarah Jane Smith, who Rose was initially very unfriendly with due to her history with the Doctor, but the pair of them quickly moved passed it and became fast friends.
She's very determined, and refuses to give up without a fight. This is frequently displayed in the series, starting from the Gelth, through Parting of the Ways, and again in series four, in which it is revealed that she had spent most of her time working with Torchwood to develop the dimension canon despite the implied impossible odds. These can also be used as an example of her loyalty, which is very apparent, especially in regards to her family and the Doctor.
She's exceptionally stubborn, and does what she thinks is right regardless of the advice or warning of others. This can, occasionally, lead to recklessness when she jumps in head-first and doesn't stop to think about the consequences beforehand, such as in the episode 'father's day'. She can be a little brash or rude to people she feels deserve it, she can be snarky, especially in an argument, and often says things without thinking about them first.
Over all, though, she's a very positive, friendly person, who genuinely tries her best to help the people around her in any way she can.
