The loans are very real, and I'll be honest, times are tough. The thing about the future is that you look at it as a place you'll be, but the truth is that the future is still a journey, a process. Think back to what you thought college was going to be like and you'll know what I mean. Hell, I'm a year out of school and I don't know what I'm doing. There's no point of arrival, the journey just continues on.

Philosophical points aside, I think you know what you need to do to get yourself ready. Start looking for a job. You said it yourself, it's the one thing you can control, or at least guide. If you don't find one, even if you don't look, I assure you you'll be fine.

You've said you've helped lots of people over the years. I don't know if you always just threw the offer out there (I wouldn't be surprised if you did), but I'm sure at least a few times you lent a hand because someone asked you for help. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. I'm sure plenty of people are waiting to return the favor -- you just have to ask.

I know you've got lots of friends down there. I know you have my number. Don't be afraid to ask.

All that said, you've only got a handful of weeks left as a college student. Enjoy the hell out of 'em. Everything is going to be okay.
