In commemoration of my one year anniversary as a cubicle dweller, coming from an office of three people, and before that just me, I present:
Things I've learned working in the corporate world:
1. Most people don't say "thank you" if you send them peer-to-peer award points that can be redeemed for really nice stuff (or cash).
2. Approx. 55 out of 60 people eat very unhealthy lunches.
3. Approx. 1 out of 60 people goes for a walk during lunch or excercises at their desk every day.
4. Most people would rather sit around in the dark complaining rather than change a light bulb (or put in a work order). This pertains to broken copiers, etc.
5. Business casual means dressing like you're going clubbing.
6. Flip-flops are very popular.
7. Approx. half of all women have tatoos (NOTHINGS WRONG WITH THAT, most are pretty cool, especially Egyptian hieroglyphics ;)!)
8. Most people have no idea what it means to REALLY work for a living.
9. Catered end of the month lunches are pretty lame (I don't eat that kind of food for personal reasons, but I see what they get. Yecch.)
10. Having a great view of a major metropolitan skyline is awesome!
