i'm going to be in this show this weekend. if you've seen a lot of boston circus guild performances, this show is heavily weighted towards acts you haven't seen. i'm personally a little intimidated by the rest of the lineup! but i'll be there both nights, on bouncy stilts. :)

last night was good! except the lily pad is a pretty tiny venue. with a polished wood floor that's slippery when wet.

stayed up late sewing stilt pants for me and moominmolly, for tonight and tomorrow night's thing at the lily pad with ensmb. moominmolly found this awesome pinstripe fabric which i am in love with, which was apparently a super-cheap remnant also. also i found my travel iron, a highly convenient sewing tool which i would be wise to have an actual designated home for so ( Read more... )

moominmolly is teaching the intro stilting class at fall wildfire, so we need to make some more stilts. we'll be doing this at our place starting at 1pm tomorrow (sunday) and also next sunday. folks who want to try stilts or help out or keep us company or use our tools and/or design to make their own are welcome to come over. :)

last time i'd planned to talk up wildfire before tickets went on sale next, and then i completely spaced on doing it in the whirlwind of burning man preparation: i know that things will occur after next week because i have them written on my calendar, but they don't really seem real right now ( Read more... )

moominmolly and i wandered a ways up the street on bouncy stilts yesterday. running, or at least jogging, is starting to feel comfortable (up from "impossible"; i'm not sure if this represents loosening of the springs or improvement in our balance or both); time to buy more serious body armor. skipping is also kinda fun ( Read more... )
