- Mon, 16:00: New goal for my 50th birthday: Actually make it to my 50th on the 17th. According to my new Dr., I'm at very high risk of having a stroke due to my blood pressure. I start BP Meds tonight, and go back for some lab work tomorrow. Today's BP reading was 182/108 😲😫☹

Funny how perspectives change.
I start Blood Pressure medication this evening, and am waiting for lab results form this morning's blood work.
I have a feeling that I am most likely diabetic, and will learn by this evening or tomorrow morning that I need additional medications for that as well.
Over the past couple of weeks / months, I have been thinking about what I want for my 50th birthday.
Karen has asked many times if I want a party or to go on a special vacation with friends and family.
To be honest, right now, I just want to be healthy and be able to be a better husband and father.
I want to make certain that I do not die at an age that is younger than when my father or grandfather passed away in their lives.
My dad lived to be 72, and my grandfather (Homer Austin Mullen) only lived to be 61.
I want more time than that to be with my kids and my wife.
I want to see my children have children of their own, and grow to be successful adults.
I want to grow old beside my wife and enjoy our retirement years together.
We have achieved so many things that I never dreamed possible within just the past two years, and I want to live to enjoy them.
I see travel and adventure and romantic getaways in our future.
For the first time in my life, I see financial security.
I don't want to throw that away because I have neglected my health.
As far as what I want for my 50th Birthday.
I would like for the Covid-19 pandemic to be over, and for a chance for Karen and I to travel somewhere I have never fathomed we could travel to. I'd like for her to surprise me with a destination she would like to show me (Ireland, London, New Orleans, Vegas, anywhere), and for us to celebrate this life we share together as we renew our wedding vows.
That would be the perfect 50th Birthday gift.
Not some party, or celebration for the sake of having something I've seen others have.
I just want us, and celebrate what we have together.
Love, Life, Health, and more Happiness than I ever dreamed I could ever possibly have.
